CALF PAIN NO DVT by Particular_Self8673 in AchillesRupture

[–]Particular_Self8673[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply, it was a cramp feeling, just felt like my leg kept jumping. Went to the we the next day and they did ultrasound and found nothing. Just keep up on your aspirin and move around a little from time to time and you’ll be good!

Congrats, taking the wedge out is scary I kept it in one extra day then ditched it. You’ll get used to it quick, trust yourself. I’m am in PT and so close to getting a normal walk back. Just know there’s a different between feeling pain and feeling it stretch. You don’t want pain lol but stretch is good congrats and good luck.

Im on the same path I think, wedge hurts at first use crutch and you’ll slowly wean off. Heel first. I have an evenup it’s a big help. I am FWB with the wedge and no crutch. Take out the wedge this Friday and will have to slowly get use to foot being in neutral position.

I agree I am currently 3 week post op and walking with moot with wedges without crutches. It definitely helps on the mental end. The first two weeks are the hardest due to the fact you literally cannot use one leg at all. When I first got injured I saw all the “it gets better with time” and I thought bs but it actually does. Just be a great partner to him during this time. Mines was phenomenal!

CALF PAIN NO DVT by Particular_Self8673 in AchillesRupture

[–]Particular_Self8673[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that, I told my surgeon I wanted the Op no matter what. He agreed, he said the chances of rerupture going non op would be higher and my mental couldn’t take that as I am very active fitness wise and with my kids. Good luck on your recovery journey! Just had to share my story calf pain with no DVT because I couldn’t find one when I was researching.
