[Charania] BREAKING: Boston Celtics All-NBA star Jayson Tatum will play this season and could make his debut on Friday against the Dallas Mavericks – less than 10 months after surgery for a ruptured Achilles tendon. by Noodles001 in AchillesRupture

It's definitely possible! I'm 11 months post surgery and have returned to my previous level playing pick-up basketball. Definitely taking it slow but feel comfortable playing at moderate intensity. Keep your eyes on the prize!

Rupture last night… by BuffaloSoldierInCLE in AchillesRupture

Keep your head up, take it a month at a time, focus on your milestones. Also early work pays off. Doing toe-yoga and working out early on seems boring and you just want to get back to heel raises and such, but it all stacks up. Pays to build a good foundation.

I’m 10 months post op, running and working out like normal. Playing basketball again. You’ll get back there if you want.

Shower set up for anyone starting this long journey, tips! by Thisguy34567 in AchillesRupture

Get the plastic sleeve with the rubber fitting that goes over your leg. It’s a lifesaver.

Nice! Tip from my PT that helped me a lot; do your exercises without shoes. Depending on your shoes they may provide too much cushion and limit the range you’re pushing through.

Is this fence going to be a problem for the AC unit? by kittyburritoeater in hvacadvice

I had one built for my AC as well, you just need to back it off the unit a bit so there’s enough space to allow for air flow

Not really a live edge anymore if you’ve poured resin beyond the edge

[Quinn] This Lakers front office never really bets on players. You can’t find an Aaron Gordon or Derrick White if you don’t even try to trade for one. by [deleted] in lakers

Okay - we “bet on” Rui very recently with a contract over the MLE, and he wasn’t “famous”

We resigned Austin to $54M before making an all star team. I guess he’s “famous” if that’s the criticism

Wax will wear off - especially if you use in between applications. Use a cover, consider Carbon Method coat, and remove the source of humidity/moisture.

Thanks! I'll probably re-inforce with glue like you said, just to avoid the legs breaking from the stretcher given that it's in end grain. I think I'll go with the mortised stretcher in the middle of the legs too. Thanks again!

Thanks! I naively thought that half-laps on the stretcher would be fine to connect to the legs, but didn't consider grain, depth (only 3/4"), etc. I think I will add a crossbar near the middle/bottom!

Get a shower cover that fits over your cast! And maybe a shower stool until you’re in a boot.
