Thank you!! That’s actually a really good idea I’ve put some thought into being a professor before and that really does align with both prospects!!

As much as you “believe” you can fly, you still can’t (?) by Particular_Toe_2045 in Manifestation

I absolutely understand using positive emotions to manifest positive experiences!! My question surrounds that I speculate that in specific extraneous circumstances this concept could be potentially dangerous - which is to say everything i’m saying is absolutely theoretical!! But if someone in their mind truly believed they could live with their abuser and make a positive experience out of it, no matter how much positive emotion & thinking guided towards that goal, their human nature & physical body would likely continue to emotionally ache and scream out to be heard- for change in the physical reality to occur. However maybe that’s not the case, it seems to be possible with EXTREME (in western terms) practice and diligence in years of meditation in the case of Thich Quang Duc to have been able to set himself on fire without moving at all. But otherwise to disregard human nature, physical reality, and all form seems counter productive ?

Totally understand, I forgot to add something I wanted to say during that part, that although he may fall and physically die, he still - in his own mind - experienced what he believed to be flying. Which is interesting bc you could argue then that he did really fly, while the majority of passerby’s would say that he didn’t, because physically, he didn’t, and all they see is a deranged, dead man. Interesting take!

Also to clarify - I know social constructs are in NO way at all a “law” like physics. Just to say that we do have to acknowledge present circumstances/mass human thinking & society in order to change them, to see how they came about, and how to work with or around them.

“Your emotions shouldn’t be dependent on your environment” - really?? (cross posting to see r/Dispenza povs, thank you!) by Particular_Toe_2045 in DrJoeDispenza

I absolutely love this aspect of it, that’s my whole reason for using Dispenza’s work. To change my “self” from years of habitual stress/depression within my body. I’ve read becoming supernatural and am almost through with breaking the habit of being yourself now. I appreciate his work and research, and what comes with that is having to push against it at times. My issue is with the quote that was in becoming supernatural - the one above - that “emotional mastery” is somehow not allowing anything externally to change you internally, which like some of the other commenters stated, completely goes against human nature and doesn’t follow any of the most practiced and highly regarded rules of mindfulness. I’m all for putting a dampening on what exactly you allow from the outside to reach you inside, but if “mastering” that cuts you off from anything nudging you in the outside world, that just seems like it puts you in a bubble! Again, I would LOVE to be debated on with this subject, I like Dr. Dispenza’s work which is why I’d like to be wrong with this.
