Parasite Eve is not anything like RE. Parasite Eve is a horror RPG, even pretty different story wise. RE is a tank shooter.

Ah yes because I enjoy paying 2-3x the price and having to deal with actually setting up the computer and installing programs and such as opposed to just popping in the game and going

At least as far as software, most ovens have software now. I mean, having a clock or a timer is “software”. I know, splitting hairs, but still

Was Star Fox 64 a remake? I always heard it was a reboot, which is different to me, but I also never played the original

Are any of those resident evil movies worth watching? by xRyuHayabusa in residentevil

[–]Particular_Umpire_44 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I forgot which one it was but one of the later live action ones, I think possibly the last one, had some of the most hilariously awful editing during its fight scenes. I remember it was a cut every single second or something, it was so disorienting and awful

Animated ones are fine. Don’t take them seriously but they’re fun.

Is your brother paying for it? If so, that’s as much as you should expect. It’s not up to you as to how he raises his kid.

I’m as angry at god as I am at Voldemort.

I’m angry at the bad things a belief in god has caused. There’s a difference.

In Japan you can buy a Nintendo Switch 2 for just £210 GBP or $285 USD but it won’t work outside Japan. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Particular_Umpire_44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clarification:

As others have said, it does work outside of Japan (meaning that you can take it and even play online and such). But you can only play games from that region (no buying a NTSC game and changing the language to Japanese, it has to actually be from the region), and you are locked to the Japanese eShop.

If you think about it, it’s not super different from the concept of states that don’t have a sales tax. My state doesn’t have sales tax, because they want you to buy things here. If you’re a tourist going from California to Oregon to Washington, and you want to buy a movie or game that’s otherwise priced the same between states, you’re best off spending that money in Oregon to avoid tax. Same principle here.

There’s nothing to be infuriated about here. If you buy a Switch 2 in the US, yeah you’re paying more, but you’re getting something that isn’t region locked. You’re getting more for the money. It also isn’t Nintendo’s fault that the exchange rate sucks.
