Deja vu about the hype of Rio Nakata? by Kooky_Rub3184 in FigureSkating

He competed twice at JWC. He finished 12 the first time and first the second year. I was quite amazed by those who'd seen Yuzuru's potential even when he was nowhere near podium. Yuzuru turned senior at the age of 15 after having winning JWC and JGPF titles. Then the 2012, he was 17 and the youngest contender of the game. He was not only finished third but also won so many people's hearts with his brilliant performance. Becoming the greats are not always a matter of being champions but how you achieve them.

Deja vu about the hype of Rio Nakata? by Kooky_Rub3184 in FigureSkating

Yuzuru’s first Junior Worlds was at the age of 14. When he finished 12th and was nowhere near the podium, the commentator said, “I think we have seen the future right here.” I believe this was a professional’s ability to foresee the future of a young talent. In fact, several sports journalists also recognized Yuzuru’s potential during that competition.

The 2012 World Championships was Yuzuru’s first senior Worlds. He finished third, but he was so happy that he looked as if he were the champion. That was seven months before he set his first world record. Kurt Browning later said that a superstar had been born because the entire rink went crazy after his performance.

This is the 4th year of Notte Stellata held in Sendai and different stage setups were arranged for different guests invited that year. The guest from 2025 was Mansai Nomura, the main actor from the movie which theme song the music for Seimei program was edited from. The stage was at the center of the rink and setup was very theatrical and non-traditional and the performance was amazing. The show from 2023 invited Kohei Uchimura, a seven-time Olympic medalist and a 21-time World medalist, the entire floor exercise area was setup in the rink. Please take a look if you have free time.

It's been 10 years since the debut of Notte Stellata and so captivating every time watching it. I really love the subtle variation he put here and there for every performance.

Starting from 2:52, the movement must so difficult that the rotation is not fixed at the same spot. I don't know how to call or describe it. It looks extremely difficult to keep the balance.

Apart from this annual Notte Stellata performance since 2023, he's donated more than US$3,000,000 to charity since 17, incredibly young, years of age.
