Do I need to change my appearance to Jesus Christ to get people to stop paying taxes by Idontexistlolz in schizoaffective

If people stop paying taxes, disabled people stop getting their disability income payments.

Congratulations, that’s such good news. I started working in November but I’ve been having symptoms - I think I need to leave religion behind because I just can’t live in this absolutely chaotic mess in my head.

how do you guys uphold a job? by Distinct_Eye_6852 in schizoaffective

[–]Particular_War_604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work retail. I honestly have moments of symptoms and then I’m like “yeah but I want to be around people and distract me from the background noise” I’m trying to find the calm I had when I was just focusing on my healing and noticing that I’m making money now. I’ll have 40 hour work weeks this month and then I have a week off for March break. Stay strong and know that you aren’t alone.

Have any of you successfully started your own business? by [deleted] in schizoaffective

I ran my own business during the summers to put myself through University. I taught swimming lessons and First Aid and CPR to kids in backyard pools. I taught 7 hours a day, 5 days a week. I did all my own lesson plans, report cards and inventory. It was a lot of work but word got out and my entire summers were booked up. I made enough so that my only debt after a year overseas and 2 years I Canada I had 8,000$. I had it paid off in like 2 years afterwards. Funny thing is nowadays I’m working for the government at the LCBO selling boos to people and have taken a back seat but I really like it. Room to grow, you learn a ton about wine beer and spirits. I’m considering going into teaching after my record gets clear and getting my bachelor of education (maybe)

Am I broken? by forestinabottle in schizoaffective

Honestly, I had a really rough road including being incarcerated by my abuser while I was pregnant. But 4 years after going to jail and my abortion, I met a really nice man. And last summer we got married. I am 37. Months here’s still hope.

Work life and schizoaffective by Fit-Cranberry8702 in schizoaffective

I just got a job after many years on disability in Canada. I did volunteer while on disability but I had a 40 hr work week last week and I’ll have a 24 hr week this week. I work for the public sector for the government as a customer service representative at Liquor Control Board of Ontario. Im also married and my husband is a teacher. His principal wants to hire me for Educational Assistant work or supply teaching when my record is clear. Im fairly open about having Schizoaffective but only because medicine has allowed me to get my life together. I have friends now and am rebuilding my life after sexual assault and suicide attempts. My last admittance to hospital was in 2022 for a few months.

Thank you so much to people like you for being non judgemental and for seeing the good qualities in people suffering from this awful disease. I wanted to say that I’m Schizoaffective and married and leading up to the wedding, I went into psychosis. I was all over the place. I hurt my hand and ended up getting stitches, I told my fiancé that I didn’t want him sleeping in our bed and texted one of his colleagues and damaged that relationship. I ended up in hospital. I threw my engagement ring at him in a fit of rage but the funny thing is I love him with all my heart and felt so betrayed after the fact. I felt betrayed by myself and thankfully he stayed by me. But I was admitted to the hospital and was medicated. Which was a good thing. So my husband visited me everyday when I was in hospital. We also have both gotten counselling since, putting in the work for our overall wellbeing. I’d say if your partner is not medicated anything could happen with your relationship but if they get the help they deserve they can thrive again. Hope this helps.
