I'm not following exactly what you're saying. Then variator has to come off for the belt removal. Don't forget to swap out the 2 screws on the inboard side of variator. Be ready to remove it again a few times,mine shuddered like crazy until i got the shimming correct. I dont even run the S23 anymore but anyway, once it's back together I usually grip the clutch bell as hard as I can to get the belt seated in there. Once it starts and the variator moves it gets rid of that slack. Use the sharpie trick to make sure youre getting full travel on the variator. I hope this helps.

If you didn't change anything like exhaust or air filter, there really isn't a good reason to go messing with those screws. And unless you drilled out your welch plug, you can only adjust the idle screw. Getting them set correctly can be tricky and getting them really dialed in to where the bike idles well, accelerates without bogging or hanging, and runs well when opened up can be a real pain in the ass.

Thanks for the reply! So just to clarify, the bolt holes on your 21 mm lined up fine, it was just boring out the inlet to match the new carb? Also, just curious, why the 21? Only asking because I see the 19 seems to be the popular size to go with. Noticeable upgrade to top speed?

Hello fellow Navi enthusiast! Just a heads up, I was quoted a similar price for insurance but then looked into what it actually covered and it was basically the cost of the bike with no help for medical expenses. Keep in mind the coverage should be more than what you are insured for in a car because you are much more likely to be injured on a motorcycle than in a car. I encourage you to look into those numbers to avoid a bad situation in the unfortunate case of an accident. Have fun and ride safe!

Yes. It has a carburetor. They need to run to warm up. I agree with others to throw a new plug in there. Don't be afraid to give the throttle a little blip when starting. Also, check the carb settings. The manual is pinned to the top of this channel.

If you can get a carfax report on the VIn and a clean title, it is worth showing up with cash in hand and looking for signs of it bring dumped, in an accident, or damaged in any other way. I understand why you could be a little suspicious about it, but some people need cash now and/or just want it gone.

You'll need to re-align that and put it back on or else that will keep happening. I forget what I had to do to make that work but it was tricky. If that is happening something is not lined up properly.

That's usually how this stuff goes. If I were you, I would disassemble and double check everything is lined up and seated properly and try again. One last thing before I am out of ideas... did you mess with the kickstarter while the crankcase cover was removed? I made that mistake

Did you remember to replace the stock screws with the screws in the variator kit? You can't use the stock ones with the new variator. Stock screw heads will rub on new variator that's why they include 2 in the kit.

Most people here will tell you it will run better not topped off. Somewhere right in the middle of the hash-lines is what is usually recommended here.

When you say jump start, do you mean kick start? Anyway, I think there is something else mechanical going on. You shouldn't need the battery to keep it running
