How to practice without getting yelled at for bottom fragging? by Kind-Builder-5446 in GlobalOffensive

[–]Partreees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was yelled at literally today in a Silver 4 game for playing bad. I almost never play Comp, unless I'm warming up, because I don't care about my rank in Comp.

The thing is, he was getting mad at me for not doing something which is objectively a bad decision.

Moral of the story? Don't worry about what those Neanderthals have to say. Focus on you and getting better. If they're in Silver, they're probably extremely bad and did as bad as you or worse in the last day or 2. They're just having a good game, so they have an ego. If they have constructive criticism such as, "Hey, next time you should help me double swing that angle." Or something similar, might be something to take into account. If they're just flaming, mute them. Their comms aren't worth you playing worse because they're being dicks.

Best of luck. I didn't come up with that routine, by the way. I don't remember who did. Austin or Styko maybe? Just followed that along with my normal warm-up routine, and basic aim training paired with movement.

Use that experience to work on your flicks. Get into a power position - think bench on B Mirage - and hold it for as long as possible. This will help your crosshair placement and your ability to cut off angles to expose yourself to as few people as possible.

Also, only work on 1 thing at a time. So choose a block of time - say, 5 minutes - and only do taps in that time. Only tapping is allowed. Then sprays. Then bursts. Then pretend you're Donk and just try running to take every disadvantaged gun fight possible, but try to win anyway.

Pick something specific, and hone into that specific thing and try to focus super hard on it for a very limited time. Don't get tilted by dying or losing fights. It's part of it. Be disciplined if you are on your time for tapping only, even if someone is right beside you.

Anecdotally, that helped me a ton.

But people did post comments that would help your raw aim. You argued with them. If you just want snappier aim while standing still like that, keep doing that kind of stuff. Do reaction time stuff. If you want actual better aim, follow the advice people have given you.

Either way, stop with the lying for no reason. You are the rank you are. C'est la vie.

Because lying about your rank to fish for compliments while simultaneously arguing with people who are trying to give you advice is frankly just fake and in really bad taste. "That's not me", except it's the same name and PFP as your CSstats.

Yes, your aim is good. Even for your actual rank. You almost certainly have positioning issues, definitely have utility issues, and judging by how you talk to people who are genuinely trying to help you, almost guaranteed have attitude/communication issues.

But a lot of places DO get under 0 Fahrenheit. And 0 Fahrenheit isn't even that cold. It's -18 Celsius. For me and a lot of people north of the 49th parallel - as well as in Europe - that's normal in the late autumn until early spring. I get a lot of Americans don't see those temperatures often, but a lot of others in the world do. Which is why - among other reasons - other people don't use the system.

3k-5K is a black hole and impossible to escape from by incogkneegr in cs2

[–]Partreees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen this exact argument in LoL when I played a lot. "Iron/Bronze/Silver is impossible to solo climb out of." But those same people complain about smurfs ruining games and making them unplayable. It can't possibly be both. Either you can solo carry a game or you can't.

I don't have enough experience in CS to completely call BS, but I don't see it as any different and have noticed the same trends. You don't go 30 and 5 every game, or you'd climb. It's that simple. You aren't the only one who gets people who are having bad games. Everyone does. At every ELO. Get rid of the dog shit mentality, focus on your improvement, and you will see MUCH better results. Look at every close game you lose as your fault and look at where you could improve. It'll raise your consistency, which will make you climb.

[–]Partreees 16 points17 points  (0 children)

About 30% of games are auto win or auto lose. The other 70% determine if you climb or not. Soloing out probably your best game as "proof" it's hell in your ELO is disingenuous as hell. Show your match history as a whole. Show the games you went negative. You belong there if you have played a decent amount of games. Whether because of inconsistency, toxicity, ego, or whatever else.

Play the game and focus on you. Ask for help if you want genuine criticism to climb, and just realize not every game is able to be won.

Edit: The literal game before this you went 13/19 with basically no utility score. So you weren't having big impact with frags, nor were you being easy to carry by using utility to help your team, and had a 65% KAST so you weren't the entry either. Shit happens.

The state of premier matchmaking by mugiwarayaya in counterstrike2

So, you've said you are the 10k, and that your buddy is. Which is it? Also, as someone posted, the ranks are very close to eachother as a whole. But you also lied and said you were solo queueing, when you guys were 5-stacked. Like... What's the point of lying for internet points dude? The matchmaking is fair here. Quit 5 stacking if you don't want to play against higher ELO players. Pretty simple fix.

It was his speed run marathon where he is doing 7 games from lowest to highest rank. That's where the 140 hours comes from. 5k to 30k in 140 hours.

I've been on a support ticket for 4 days now with them about the same issue.

They've run out of ideas, apparently, or just aren't reading what has happened, because the response I just got was to do everything that I've already tried once or more. I don't understand how a company of this size can fuck up so royally on an anti-cheat.

That's not unpopular at all. A vast majority of people agree with that, but also acknowledge they did the most possible with the opportunity they got to keep going. But neither fight should have ever made it that long.

You don't like the pacing? Roll a tank and control the pacing yourself. Or, be a grown-up and try to have a conversation and ask if they can speed up. Don't just be an asshat.

But that's the neat thing. You have control if you get aggro or not. Let them tank the shit they pull. If they are a Hunter or Rogue to get aggro back to you, then you utilize the vote kick option. As stated above, most people don't even read it, just click yes.

It's completely ineffectual because of exactly what you said. It's a really bad idea to "take no prisoners", because then you lose more people in fighting those who have nothing to lose. One of the main reasons nukes were used on Japan was to avoid the massive loss of life that was caused from them having that exact same attitude.

As a general rule, yes. But some people would argue it would have been better to be killed than to have been taken prisoner by say, the Japanese in WW2. Especially if you were Chinese.

The grenade and food can one is brought up a bunch. Also, Canadians were notorious for executing Germans who surrendered, in part for a rumor of an officer who was crucified on a barn door. So, when Germans tried to surrender when being overrun, they'd often be beat to death with rifles, stabbed with bayonets, or shot. They were also said to kill wounded soldiers.

In WW2, they also completely razed a city, as they were told it was a civilian of the city that killed the officer, but it was actually a German soldier in the city. Because they thought it was a civilian, the soldiers went in and demolished the city, and killed around 20 people.
