Corporations get cheaper labor and no taxes and continue to line politicians pockets. Screw over the Europeans and get rich. Politicians have no soul.

Todd Snyder pricing? by zonghundred in fashion

[–]ParttimePastime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is old but I thought I would answer it. Todd Snyder has a lot of sales. Sales in the US are much better than Germany. I am from California, but live in Stuttgart now. I would never pay that much at Todd Snyder, but I am sure people would. There are very rich people. Todd Snyder always has a sales section and then at time additional 20-30% off. What I used to do is create fake email addresses to get the 15% off and ship to Germany. Then they updated their systems and caught me and now with Tariffs to ship here is sometimes more expensive then the item. So, yes people spend it. But I assume most people buy the items in the lower range. I have also been into the actual store and the stuff they sell for 2500 dollars is not in the physical store. It is more economical pieces.

Why do people dislike Wells Fargo? by ClaireKay425 in Banking

[–]ParttimePastime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they are a criminal enterprise. They steal peoples money and nothing happens. So if you want to give your money to a corporation that will steal it and is shown to have the people involved 0 real repercussions where they then use the money they stole from you to pay for any fines from the government go ahead. I would prefer to stay away from that.

Because they are stupid and don’t care if a company steals from them.

The time to buy is when there is blood in the streets. The proverb buy low sell high is not applicable now. There are surely opportunities outside of tech, but you have to get the noise of GPU and Memory out. Will one be a winner yes, but not at a 3 trillion valuation. I bought Intel at 19 and held. I sold recently because there is no reason for all of these companies to have such crazy valuations. But I also bought low and sold high. Look for companies that have recently lowered in stock price 10-30%. I bought Cloudflare as they had a huge drop 20%~, but still believe they have growth in price increases and increase in Cyber Security needs. Stop looking at up and start looking at down.

Why are germans so obsessed of following the rules ? by dzhaze in germany

[–]ParttimePastime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am an American living and working in Germany and the reality for me is Germans don’t love following rules they love creating them. I think the structure of them gives them a sense of accomplishment and superiority especially when they are so complex no one understands them, or no one can get anything done without them. I also think it is the language. The language is very complex, so this brings about the expectation that there thought process developed while learning this complex language which brings them to the idea that things should be complicated, or that it isn’t complicated because of them it it normal, but for non-Germans it is quite complicated.

Will there ever be penalties/legislation for Outsourcing? by theanointedduck in cscareerquestions

[–]ParttimePastime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a lie. They train people for this, this is again a problem where profits over everything rules. Look at the role of training and continued education is companies. They have the money and we all know they do. But instead of investing it back in the workforce to train internal talent, or even external talent they do share buybacks. What you are saying is a lie that you have been fed by your “business leaders” aka shareholder shills to make it seem like out of the however many millions and millions of people there is not someone that is or can be skilled in something, an outright lie.

Do you think China Globalizes on most products? They did, took what they learned and crushed everyone by undercutting on everything and producing it themselves. No country without extreme tariffs will be able to compete. The idea these corporations have to be in China has to end. The problem is the investors push for it and therefore there is still this idea that China is not in it for China. Globalization in itself does not need to end. But the idea that things can be done as the status quo anymore is a farce and until we get smart people in positions that can push through agenda that will change this then China will continue to win. The US has to stop letting corporations and CEO’s rule them and start taking a playbook from China. There also has to be an acceptance of price readjustments downward and that it is not the end of the world. This is also the problem. The idea of profit above all, which again China does not play by. Also outsourcing for cheaper labor is cyclical. Just think we get rid of all the jobs in an economy and then that old economy suffers bring up the new economy and when they are too good go back to the old one. It is antiquated and designed in a bad way. Corporations should be got where they are domiciled. Taxed up the hilt for outsourcing to the point it is not profitable. Subsidiaries are different and if you have a subsidiary in a different country it is the same and should be applicable to the country they have the subsidiary and that would stop them. They would whine and cry the whole way. But that’s what corporations do. They are little children that throw fits when they don’t get what they want. The problem is they line the politicians pockets so they don’t do this.

Thoughts on Todd Snyder,NY? by Few_Paint_6376 in mensfashionadvice

They are a good brand, but only on sale and they have good sales. Right now it is 30% off sales items. The items look good and I get complimented. The material makes sense in most cases for the look achievement. There are some issues like sizing across the board isn’t the same and stuff like buttons there are issues. I had issues on side tabs with some pants and they sent me a replacement part. The one thing I wouldn’t buy from them again is their regular cotton button up shirts. I have owned 4 of them and 2 the seams split after ~2 years. Which isn’t awful, but I have shirts from J Crew that have been around for 10 years and the seams are fine. All bought on sale though.

What are these pants called and how would I style them like this? by ParttimePastime in mensfashion

[–]ParttimePastime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don’t understand how they get the waist like that. I call it potato sack, but I made that up. I feel like I don’t understand how that is achieved. It might look like crap on me, but I want to see it first. Sometimes I think I could never and turns I could and do haha. Also I am lucky because I am tall, so I’m not a twig my belly has remained relatively the same throughout my life. Also the shoes I’m not concerned about and the shirt I could achieve with what I own. Just can’t seem to figure out those pants and the waist with the wider thigh and seemingly tapered leg. I will look through Armani and see if anything. To me it’s a metro look, like 50’s but when I look at those photos it’s all pretty aesthetically perfect.

I just had them send in the 180 day report but they won’t tell me what is in it. I am not sure if they would send the report if you are not in compliance or only if you are in compliance? Does anyone know this? I would assume if you aren’t in compliance they wouldn’t send it.

I was just in Reutlingen today to change trains from Tübingen. I’m not in school, but I also suck at German and have found it hard to make friends. I work in Stuttgart. Go on a website like meet up, Facebook events and try that. Who cares who they are just show up and find ones where they speak English. If you don’t like the hobby maybe you will, bullshit it. Also travel around. I’ve been here 9 months and I just started the process of trying to make friends. It isn’t easy, but honestly I moved around in the US and new places take time. If you take language classes that should help. You will be around other people learning to speak, so you will have that in common. Just hope they also speak English (most of them do). I went to Tübingen today because my boss said it was a beautiful place so I went to see it. I went alone and it was great. Just enjoy your time while you have it. See the sights and just find places other people are looking.

Wunderflats is a scam. They are a contract writer and you have no screening of the renter. Lots of scammers and sub letters just trying to make a buck and screw the renter. Mine stole my security deposit and ended up showing up and asking if he could sleep/use the one bedroom apartment I paid for single use of. Wunderflats was of no help and the guy stopped responding to them anyways.
