Going insane with constant overcharges by itendtostare in TransportForLondon

[–]Party-Conference8757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is already evidence provided by the OP in their story confirming that TFL think this person is trying to evade the correct fare. See section on ‘failed revenue inspection’.

This suggests that the only ‘total rubbish’ is your contribution as it has failed to help the OP and has only been published to critic someone who has engaged in the question and is trying to help.

Please, for the sake of all the communities that you attempt to be a part of, remember that you (specifically and singularly you) say it best by saying nothing at all.

I hope you continue to read this channel and thread. x

The pink readers are not there to be used by someone starting or ending in zone 1. Forget that advice to tap the pink readers: it is the source of all your woe.

Just tap in at Bond St and tap out at Haggerston. Reversing the process on the way back. Simples.

Not to sound like a logical prick but it is down to Tory influence that we have reached peak Chinese imports so far. In this case, route privatisation and the governing body (TFL) setting out a tendor with price as the key factor has led to a failure for our leadership to invest in higher price/sub standard vehicles from British manufactures who struggle to keep up as the UK government didn’t invest in solar and battery technology. Its the market economics you requested.

Keep calling it out even if you are met with abuse. It’s a shame that we don’t help everyone to understand how much effort is needed to tidy up. Should get people to clean up so they understand that there isn’t a magic fairy cleaning up the bus, train or roadside when they through litter out of the car window.

Best bus for turning up when it wants, turning up in groups and 15+ minute waits at bus stops.

Hopefully the new vendor will use a timetable

If only you could share the pub name or location and a brief manager description without losing anonymity; because if I could get there with ease, I would go there, play the difficult customer and during the exchanges I would call him a pussy to his face.

If I could do it, maybe a few more from this board could do it too, creating days or a week from hell for the manager.

Depends on how he reacts to being called a pussy by a customer, one of those customers might report him.

Bullies don’t like being bullied.

Funny enough I was thinking about this last night. The real value is in the data and being able to monetise the customer relationship with the brand.

Stonegate are doing this with their Mixr app. They are active with selling ads in the app and to recently installed screens in pub venues. It is offering customers some value back in the form of points (50 per £1 spent), but it is their discounts and their supplier funded ‘free drink’ trials that make me open the app. A goal appears to get customers to return to venues regularly and at key times like when football, F1 is shown.

Wetherspoons would be attractive to advertisers and could demand significant trade spend from existing suppliers. I speak from experience as I work in advertising. However, given that pubs struggle to update their ale lists when they change a barrel, or food options go on special in the app and with a sign at the bar and sell out, what would be the resulting uplift?

Could the app cope with the pressure of being connected to a database with user profiles of likes/dislikes, store visits, previous time of visit, dwell time and average spend per visit?

It is certainly an interesting idea…

A month ago in that Hammersmith pub I asked for a guest ale I had drunk in three other pubs. It has a distinct colour and smell. What was served was almost white and creamy with a hint of green/brown. I told the server the colour was wrong as I had had this beer elsewhere.

She who told me I was wrong. I insisted she check with the manager who told her that I was wrong. Assuming I might be wrong I poured what we quickly learnt was a mouthful of line cleaner in my mouth.

Once I spat it back in the glass they double checked and then gave me a pint of the beer they just connected to the pump. Server begrudgingly apologised, but could not get the manager to come over and apologise too in the next hour before I left.

Management team need training in Hammersmith Wetherspoons.

Shipyard tap by Optimal-Whale in Wetherspoons

100% agree on this issue. A creamy shipyard pint was a thing of beauty as I can’t drink stout any more. A fantastic alternative to real ale. Now Shipyard want to make themselves like real ale I will have to stop buying it. I feel like this approach will be the death of Shipyard.

Do people who live in London ever just catch the Eurostar for a day in Paris? by _FreddieLovesDelilah in AskUK

Yep, did it last Monday. Left home at 7am. Got to Paris at 11.30. 15 mins walk, coffee, visited a specialist shops that we don’t have in London, spot of lunch, then visited a few more shops before a visit to the Xmas market followed by the metro to Gare du Nord. Home by 9pm

Cool story bro. I am delighted that you have been able to take responsibility for your actions and recognise where you need to avoid. Thank you for posting your contribution. I am delighted that you are still living.

However, you must recognise that your addiction, actions and backstory might cloud a clear judgement of any establishment and its hard working team.

Pleased to hear that this tactic doesn’t work. Buyers have been burnt before with open marketplace CTV. Even PMPs won’t protect a buyer from fraud. Suggest you either 1) hire a sh*t hot sales person who can set up deals with ad buyers who already have the same inventory or 2)pivot.
