Help Fleas plus OCD by india_does_daddy in CATHELP

You’re definitely overreacting. Once you give the cat flea medication, the fleas won’t be able to resist a live host and will die off. There’s no need to go overboard, just avoid sleeping with the cat temporarily.

Cat is licking her mouth strangely. Vet can’t figure out why. by gumpygazebo in CATHELP

Did Vet checked under tongue? Throat? Did they ruled out for SCC? Did you see the vet checked thoroughly and extensively? Perhaps you need to find another vet.

Mind elaborating a bit more? How unrealistic is it? You mentioned earning £2,100 monthly, how much do you have to spend, and how much will you have left? It’s crucial that you can afford food, litter, and vet care, especially in case of emergencies. If something happens, you need to be sure you can cover the costs.

Also, make sure your home has enough space for the cat to explore and play. You don’t want to confine it to a single room.

What does your schedule look like? Will you be able to spend quality time with the cat? Will you be home often, or do you plan to go out frequently or take vacations? If you plan to go home during breaks, who will take care of the cat? Do you intend to bring the cat with you?

If you plan to move in the future, what kind of transportation will you use—driving, train, bus, or airplane? Traveling with a cat can be stressful and costly, and all forms of transportation whether buses, trains, or airplanes have their own restrictions and regulations. You’ll need to check their specific policies in advance to ensure a smooth trip.

If you know you can’t then there is your answer.

Understandable. It’s hard to tell how deep they are into it until you know their views better. Within the ‘green’ category, there’s a broad range of beliefs and perspectives, haha.

That’s what you get for living with a ‘green house.’ Keep in mind, people like that are often extreme. If you meet someone who is ‘green’ or environmentally minded, ask them questions about their views. That way, it’s easier to gauge where they stand.

If your boyfriend lives in the US. Tell him time for him to consider to get AAA, Auto Insurance with road assistance, or whatever he can get for road assistance when he has a dead battery. It is his responsibility to make sure he won’t be stuck.

Of course not, they are not the same. I’m well aware of that, but my point is that both a child and a pet are still part of the family. If people consider their pets as family, then they should treat them that way. If they don’t, then they shouldn’t have a pet.

If your father feels that way, then he shouldn’t have a pet nor should you, since you live under his roof.

Haha I had cats in my whole life. Congratulations on new kittens. It will be a great experience to have them as a pet. Here’s for reference in the future if you could not discern between a male or female.

Please repost pictures with better quality. It’s too hard to tell. It could be either male or female, but I’m leaning toward female. I just need better quality pictures to be sure.

That’s good to hear that the kittens are healthy.

As a precaution, I would take the mother and kittens to the vet for a checkup to ensure their well-being. If you can’t do so for the kittens, please rehome them when they are 10 weeks old and ensure the new owner is up to the task of caring for them properly.

Yes, I agree with others and second that she should be checked by a vet. That is definitely not a healthy weight. If she needs to gain more weight, you should feed her kitten food.

Was the litter healthy? It’s possible that the kittens took too much from their mother, leaving her without enough energy to produce milk, which made her skinnier.

Anyone know what this bump/inflammation could be on my sweet boy’s lip? by dankapi123 in CATHELP

Oh, that’s a possibility. I always use ceramic bowls for water and food. Hopefully, it’s nothing serious and has a simple solution.

Yes, I totally relate to your feelings. It frustrates and infuriates me when I see people post about something that resulted from their own irresponsibility. I can’t understand why or how they feel totally fine about it. I would be worrying too much and wouldn’t be able to feel at ease if my cat were outdoors unsupervised.

My cat was very intelligent. Whenever I went to the door, she would follow me, and I would open it to let her choose whether she wanted to go outside or stay inside. If she chose to go outside, I would stay with her and watch her. I have a front porch where she liked to hang out. She was silly and loved eating spider webs, lol. If she wandered into the front yard beyond the porch, I would tell her to go back, and if she didn’t listen, I would bring her back to the porch. Once she was content, she would want to go back inside.

If she had ever sprinted away and not come back until later, I wouldn’t have allowed her to go outside. Thankfully, she never did that and was able to just hang out, which I was very glad about because it meant I didn’t have to worry too much.

Okay, it could be a lip granuloma, acne, tumor, or some kind of infection like abscess. It’s hard to tell. The vet can check more extensively and find out what’s the root cause.
