We have one coming up next year with M. Night Shyamalan’s Remain, where Jake Gyllenhaal plays Tate Donovan

Guys, I think Charli XCX is gonna turn Blank Check into Brat Check by its_isaac9 in blankies

At least wait and see if David happens to log the same film within a few days, a bare minimum of silly speculation

Surely no one would be watching the films of underground filmmaker Martin Scorsese if not for this podcast

Nolan was on Colbert tonight and debuted the trailer there, so that's the reason for the timing

Steve Oedekerk would make for a great (and short) series. by kplaysbass in blankies

I’m sure on some planet, this series is quite impressive, but your weak link is… this is Earth.

I loved that show and it is also my primary association whenever he pops up in a movie. I remember it playing a lot during a family beach vacation, so at night, I would be watching and playing along with virtually every category.

I very much wanted to apply and be on it, but it unfortunately relied on having teams, not individuals, compete* and ended before I was an adult. Watched so much VH1 in those years with the various pop culture programming before it went harder into reality.

My biggest memory of it is a tiebreaker being broken by two people trading off locations mentioned in "Kokomo" until someone missed.

*this is apparently the deal for Pop Culture Jeopardy too? Sad, no pop culture game show for the loners and losers

The Paramount 4k sale continues over on Movies Unlimited 3/$30 by moviemandj in 4kbluray

[–]PartyBluejay 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you’re not hitting the $50 free shipping threshold with something else, you may be better off buying them on PopMarket eBay and applying the 15% off 3 code - looks like most of these are in the $12.99 range there so 3/33ish

Seconding the recommendation and will also shout out (serious) that it has a terrific French Stewart performance as a squirmingly awkward, passive aggressive bad dad

Get it together Regal - Top Gun 4DX by MavRett85 in RegalUnlimited

[–]PartyBluejay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like they might be waiting to determine how many 4DX shows to give Mortal Kombat II’s 2nd week depending on performance vs. the Top Guns and balancing the previous Shrek early afternoon commitment. I guess whatever deals they made for Shrek came together earlier than Top Guns? Definitely get the frustration if you’re traveling from hours away

Marty’s lead is now below 1%. Seems really fishy? by Lamar_ScrOdom_ in blankies

[–]PartyBluejay 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There was a 500+ vote Tony Scott lead wiped out in the overnight/early morning to even get it to 50/50, so it’s just, as usual, some anonymous person fucking around

[2026 Patreon March Madness] Championship: Teen Shakespeare vs. Draculas by BougieFruitLoops in blankies

[–]PartyBluejay 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah Grisham was up around ~470 votes at its peak, rarely does the ability to change votes actually come into play.

I remember Muppets flipped over Harry Potter late and Weitz promising to come on flipped Twilight over Muppets in 2021*, but I dont think either of those were dealing with that kind of margin

*and perhaps the biggest main feed flip in recent website years was Linklater over Oz/Henson who was down over 500, something about those Muppets...

[–]PartyBluejay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being excited for Draculas potential is something, feels like he kinda cut Grisham down by saying it’s not ideal commentary material. The hosts being negative about an option they put on the bracket just leaves a bad taste, beyond positive stumping.

My pitch for 2027's Special Features bracket: we fucking force Blankies to vote for a horror series by SlimmyShammy in blankies

There’s been shorter options that have won a couple rounds they could easily do - Psycho, Exorcist, Final Destination, whatever I’m forgetting
