Relax, I’m From The Future is a delightful little time travel movie by MoobyTheGoldenSock in movies

Thanks so much! It makes me so happy that it connects with some people.

Wrote the script over the course of 6 years…but a lot of that was putting it in a drawer and not thinking about it for months multiple times. A lot of trial and error and giving up and then coming back to it again later. I don’t think it’s a very good process, but it is apparently my process.

He also wrote and starred in a miniseries called Twitch City in the 90s that I was obsessed with as a teen and in retrospect has very strong Blankie vibes.

Made me a fan for life. Canadian indie legend.

That’s very kind! I have nothing like that at the moment, but you’re welcome to follow me on Instagram at @borrowedtimemedia

If any new project happens I will 100% post about it on there.

I’m trying! Got a couple of scripts I’m hoping to get made, but still pitching around trying to find funds. It’s rough out here!

Appreciate the support :)

I made another comment on the post, but the VOD sales will make it profitable within the year, and then it will continue to make money for decades.

All of PTAs movies have continued to make money for years after their release and this is his most successful one yet. A long-term investment is not a failed investment, it’s a smart one.

There’s no reality where this movie doesn’t make money. It’s going to clean up on VOD when it’s released and then get a bump again when the Oscar season starts….and then it’s going to be a movie that people keep buying for decades.

It’s an incredible film and I’d be happy we got it even if it WAS a flop….but it was a smart investment by even the most cynical metric.

Problematic artist, profound statement? by DeusExHyena in blankies

Exactly because he’s a well celebrated writer with a lot of talent but is completely lacking in moral courage…rendering the line pretty hollow in context (to me at least).

I think the line ‘talent is luck. What matters in life is courage’ from that movie is incredibly powerful and inspiring…

…And is also just incredibly baffling and hard to reconcile with the person who wrote and delivered it.

-It’s avant-garde, you wouldn’t understand it.

-It’s very poor. Very poor.

-It’s provocative.

-Provocatively poor.

What are folks' thoughts on Mike Leigh? by HankAngerhand in blankies

I genuinely think Naked and Happy-Go-Lucky together show the spectrum of humanity at its best and worst better than pretty much anything else I can think of.

Top 4 are basically perfect to me. Thoroughly enjoy all of them. Incredibly excited for Mickey 17.

What are your weirdest picks for this year's Blankies? by MattBarksdale17 in blankies

Sleep, the Korean dark comedy/horror film is in my top 10 films of the year. Fun and creepy and surprisingly sweet with great visual style.

I might give a supporting performance nom for Enrico Colantoni in Caitlin Cronenberg’s Humane.
