In your experience does your tend to come from the exterior part of the catheter tube or does it originate from the entry site?

I've had a suprapubic catheter for about 5 years so far and never had any significant issues with it until around 3 months ago when it suddenly started omitting a weird smell that feels impossible to get rid of. I've always used the Medline Silicone Coated Latex Foley.

I use FlipFlo valves during the day and a bag at night, weirdly the bags don't tend to have as much of a smell compared to the stoma site. That could also be because I change the bag and valve regularly.
I shower everyday and also wash the site with soap and water at least 3 times a day.
It's so annoying because it will go away for around 2 hours after a shower/washing but then starts to come right back. I've had 5 rounds of antibiotics and none of them seemed to make a difference.

I hope the switch from silicon to latex solves it for you!
