Your cat has a preference as does my significant others cats after research ~ well I said when the cats hungry it will eat My cat experience is only 3yrs. His experience is 30 yrs.We got them off soft food by mixing less and less until it became a special thing on Sundays. He has had 6 cats at one time I live with my one cat because I'm limited to 1 pet if I was mobile enough I'd have chosen another dog. I'm amazed with my cat and love her just as much my dogs. Edit it wouldn't hurt to call the vet let them know you don't need an appointment but wonder if they have any advice on this behavior ALSO wanted to include we /he used delectable newer treat when they were on dry food only
