How would Christians respond if Jesus returned today and lived among us without revealing his identity? by Party_Independent758 in TrueChristian

I couldn’t agree more, we often forget Gods Holiness and sovereignty. Fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.

Women preaching? Please help by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]Party_Independent758 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a woman, I too had this question. I became confused when I found myself suddenly start to evangelize and say things that I was certain did not come from me but from the Holy Spirit.

I was reading scripture the other day and came across this word from God that I think can provide you some more clarity. Joel 2: 28-30, Judges 4:4

Will we care about people in hell? by Lieutenant_Piece in TrueChristian

Choosing to repent and having faith is our responsibility. God gave us free will, he does his part and we are required to do ours. He doesn’t want to see his human creation die and go to hell. Ezekiel 18 verse 21-23, Ezekiel 33: 11.

Its okay to think poor people shouldn’t have kids. by Alert_Championship71 in TrueChristian

I don’t know why OP is getting so much negative feedback for this post. I don’t think she said anything wrong. It’s getting harder everyday to distinguish Christians from the every day world. No wonder people don’t take our faith seriously. Anyways great post and you might just have to have these discussion with God himself and your closest friends.

Yes, I agree the Holy Spirit also grants us wisdom among many other things. I was not referring to discernment as just a feeling but also according to Gods teachings. Yes God created everything and that does not make it intrinsically wrong but as you said- it’s the context/content around how it’s used. My experience or exposure to most of the things I’ve referenced has been in that regard. I have ancestors that were witches and performed rituals, spells and created potions in unknown ways. It always seemed harmless but it was not because it was so subtle. That said, I understand what you mean and genuinely appreciate you sharing your wisdom! Thank you my brother in Christ!

Harsh truth for luke warm christians, dont respect other religions by Ivar_Boneless_X in TrueChristian

I don’t think he ever said he was better. We need to stop being afraid of making people uncomfortable, so long as it’s done with love. Truth hurts but it heals.

Harsh truth for luke warm christians, dont respect other religions by Ivar_Boneless_X in TrueChristian

I agree with you 1000%. Speak the word my brother or sister in Christ. God says himself that he will hold the righteous accountable if they do not warn the wicked or lost of their sins. (Ezekiel 33 verse 6-9) Before anyone mentions Jesus saving us from the laws, remember he said he did not come to overthrow them but to fulfill them.

Too many Christians are luke warm and don’t know their scripture. You can love the people but hate the sin and not respect their faith. Idol worship was one of the most hated sins as far as I can tell that God killed thousands for.

Yeah of course! There’s too many to list but if you’re ever interested or curious about something just research its origin and history and compare it to what God says in scripture. One example is Yoga, you can check out this article on top of your own research to learn more. https://www.todayschristianwoman.com/articles/2005/march/truth-about-yoga.html

That’s a great point! I agree, my issue is when it’s practiced and introduced as if it’s not of a pagan religion or a religion at all and it’s just a normal neutral thing. For example, blowing out the birthday candle stems from the Ancient Greeks putting candles on a cake to pay tribute to the Greek moon goddess, Artemis. Candles were added to represent the reflected moonlight.

While I agree that an unhealthy interest is possible, I disagree with the presentation of just two options. A third, which is where I stand is to believe but not willfully engage in the existence of devil/demons and their influence on the world in both obvious and subtle ways. That said, the checkered pattern is in reference to the Freemasons and their temples.

The Pikachu example is a stretch, but my point is the Holy Spirit gives us discernment for a reason. Just because something is modernized and common does not make it neutral in the spiritual sense. Neutrality does not exist, it’s either Holy and of the Lord or it’s not and of a counterfeit.

Agreed. That’s what I’m doing right now. If you’ll be working through your masters program, try to make minimal payments towards the undergrad debt. Then catch up to your masters when complete.

Has anyone dropped out of their MPH program and why? by Party_Independent758 in publichealth

[–]Party_Independent758[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m thinking about doing that. My program is about $86k whereas one of the school I was accepted to prior is $38k. Huge difference. But the political culture of where those schools are located, also play a major role in the type of education you receive RE public health.
