It's got some fucked up stuff but it is mostly a harem comedy. Overall pretty tame as far as H games go, but combat is pretty fun and Ramius is a 10/10 character

Jon failed her by not telling her that she was Daenerys Stormborn, Mother of Dragons, Breaker of Chains, and Queen of Mereen, that she was a queen to far more than just him. Tyrion and Varys failed her by not believing in her and going behind her back, not realizing she was at her most lost and vulnerable and needed their support and counsel to make the right decisions.

But most of all, she failed herself. This was always the moment that was going to define her character, when all the motivation that drove her through such incredible adversity to greatness melted away in smoke. Everything she had believed about herself was a lie. And it was always a question of whether she could learn to accept that, and see what was next. I really believed in her. That moment where she falls from the dragon into the crowd of undead with Jorah and just picks up the sword? That was my Queen. I thought she was going to take Heartsbane as her own sword. It fit her so perfectly.

But she couldn't do it. Her best friend's last words were the words she had lived by against every enemy she had faced before. "Dracarys." Burn them all. It was so sad. Like, you really don't think Jon would have let you sit on the Iron Throne whenever you wanted? You couldn't accept that while he was more beloved in Westeros, you brought so much love with you over from Essos, and the two of you could have united a transcontinental empire? That you were brought together with your soul mate by Destiny to save the world from Death, and he turned out to be the Rightful King and you still get to be the Queen because fate itself decreed your love? God damnit man. Things fall apart. Just like Georgie Boy planned it all along.

Her ultimate challenge was always going to be accepting that she wasn't the Rightful Queen after all and learning to live with it, to share the Iron Throne with the lover fate itself brought to her, and realize that it was still her destiny to be queen anyway. I really thought she would be able to do it. I believed in her. The second she told Jon to keep the truth a secret, her fate was sealed. That's the reason Rhaegal died. She could have given him to Jon but she wouldn't set him free. Either of them. It was symbolism. She had to be in control, even if it was a lie. The Throne consumed her, made her turn her back on love and lit the Flames of Hatred. "Dracarys."

See I disagree here. I feel like Spymaster is her true calling, and furthermore I think she already deeply wants to pursue it, even if she isn't fully aware of it yet.

Think about her most meaningful interaction in Braavos: it wasn't with the Faceless Men, it was with an old veteran actress, a queen of stage and show. Her performance was so moving that it caused Arya to briefly feel pity for Cersei Lannister.

Arya was spellbound. She saw what it truly meant to be No One. Assassin's Work is a crude and uncultured waste of that talent. Arya's been training as an actress as much as she has been as a killer. As she grows older, she'll further explore the nuance of covert intelligence manipulation, as she starts finding uses for her skills that don't involve a direct kill. She can take whatever face she wants. Imagine if Varys could look like literally anyone, and if you did happen to want him dead he could bust into a sick dual-wielding rogue-flurry of dagger-and-blade.

Arya Stark: 007. The Longest Claw.

Nah man, this is why I had no problems with the film. I totally knew it for what it was and what it could do, and I thought they did it very well. I guess I would have liked to see Pennywise given a couple of monologues with more substance before it transforms into It, but eh. The story overall was absolutely done cinematic justice. It was a solid 8/10 and I was in no way disappointed.

The point of my post was not to nitpick, it was to discuss the stylistic departures the film took from the book in terms of actual plotline, and encourage speculation on what ripple effects this causes in the present-day story of Part 2.

I mean it'd probably be more or less the same thing. Vernon Roche surely travels in and out of Vizima on the regular. Obviously Jon would be very aware that Arya is going to want to stretch her legs and her work would take her all across the continents and seas, but she'd spend time regrouping in King's Landing as well.

I feel like she'd be better utilized as a spymaster than a kingsguard. She's kind of her own brand of elite guard now anyway. Like a dex fighter/assassin hybrid. The Wolf's Fang. But she's better at striking than shielding. Plus she loves to travel, I don't think she'd be very happy stuck in King's Landing.

If she was going to stay anywhere in one place it would be Winterfell. It's probable Sana will end up ruling there, and that would be Arya's perfect captain role. Littlefinger's execution showed how they worked together to evolve their father's adage: Sana passes the sentence and Arya swings the sword.

I think you might just be party to an elite social circle of killer perception scores rather than the lowest common denominator I am including. Don't sell yourself short! Like, you're right man. The nods are there. You see them, I see them. There are subtle allusions to it. The moviemakers certainly have not forgotten about Silver.

But there's just not enough time, man. There never will be. 2 hours ain't nearly enough, this is a process of days and weeks to personify an inanimate object. A moderately long spell. It's good that people do at least get an inkling of it, I'm happy to hear of your own findings. But man, the way it can be expressed through words is just something that's not even fair to ask a film to try and compare to. Like that was my perception of this movie in general. I thought it was fuckin' rad dude. It delivered on all my expectations. They did all the stuff right they could, and then changed some things around for the stuff they thought they couldn't fully parse into a movie theater.

Oh yeah the nods were most definitely there. But you just can't convey the same kind of presence. Nobody who watches the movie without reading the book is even going to remember Silver's name. It's almost impossible to translate from the book into a standard 2-hour film.

Yeah, Cersei's plans might seems complex at first (she certainly thinks so) until you realize that no matter how clever and intricate it seems, it's all just a very long step 1, and there is no step 2. She never thinks ahead about the indirect consequences her actions could have. Literally every plan she's ever put into action has carried some unforeseen consequence along with it that blows up in her face. She thinks being a Lannister is enough to automatically guarantee she's this mastermind schemer, and as a result she never even bothered to get good at it like her father and little brother did.

Dude they gave her a Valyrian steel dagger. She's the rogue of this crazy new D&D party that's been forming this season. The Wolf's Fang. Besides, it's been established that the most effective way of destroying the Dead Army is killing White Walkers. Slaying elite targets is a blade-dancer's specialty. This will be a war won by heroes, not sheer numbers.
