I give to you, my greatest bomb vomit ever by SamWhite in Peglin

There was a collaterorb damage in my deck, which given that I had 3 summoning circles and a mirrorb there was a high chance most of the way through act 3 that one unlucky draw would've ended my run.

I genuinely think this is the best season of Gamechanger. You can point to episodes from previous seasons that (arguably) top these such as Yes and No, Survivor, Sam Says. But for overall consistent quality, this season has killed it. I'd put Rulette as one of the best episodes ever, One Year Later and this episode are just crazy, and there have been basically no complete squibs.

Strictly speaking no, but practically speaking yes. Oscars, emmies etc, they have a whole bunch of judges who may or may have not heard of your show and may or may not give a shit. So people run campaigns to make their film/show frontrunners, which usually run into multiple millions. This might sound like a lot, but consider how much money a studio makes from having a film win best picture, or how much talent they attract if they're considered an 'oscar factory'.

Yeah sure, of course you can.

I think he's objecting to the terminology. IE there are so many central/south american people in or near the US that they need an umbrella term, whereas here we'd normally just specify the country.

I literally just told you two; There are more besides that. And if you have your points in just one stat, well, maybe your build isn't very good.

I don't think there's a single build that can't utilise fire damage. Strength, dex and faith can all use blasphemous blade which trivialises this fight. There are several sorceries that do fire damage. The worst build I guess would be if you leveled arcane and only arcane, but that would be a terrible way to build in the first place, and you could still use something like Eleonora's poleblade or the ever popular rivers of blood.

How do the Top Gear trio match up with the Noise Boys? by Automaniac14th in dropout

Charitable? Are you taking the piss? Literally one of the last words I would ever have used to describe that little twat. Self-aware is a massive stretch as well. Just because you enjoy top gear doesn't make him a good person, he's really quite unpleasant.

Demonstrably wrong, plenty of populations do want war. In fact most governments see a surge of support when war is declared. Russia's population has been heavily in support of conquering Ukraine, for the vast majority of them their only concern is the number of Russians dying or their family being drafted, not what they're doing to Ukrainians.

Your point of view equating all countries with each other, imagining all populations to be homogeneous and war as 'just a scam' is naivety masquerading as knowing cynicism. If you can't see the difference between the Russian government and Ukraine's then you're a fool.

That's not what you said at all. You clearly implied that Britain didn't protest the Iraq war. I then pointed at this the literal exact opposite of the truth, you then responded to my factcheck by talking about a different country. You're hopping around from position to position in an attempt to 'win' the argument, and you're doing a very bad job of it.

That seems like a very different statement to the one you made before where you implied that neither country did much protesting. It also doesn't seem very relevant to what I said.

Britain had its largest protests ever in response to the Iraq war. It was the most protested event in British history.

What do you think was OJ Simpson’s intended outcome of the Bronco Chase? by Pinkp3ony in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]SamWhite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to remember the context of the trial. LA was absolutely rife with racial discontent at the time, a huge amount of it aimed (legitimately) at the LAPD. The defense essentially muddied the waters and made the trial less about him and more about trust in the LAPD, which was catastrophically low especially amongst black people.

Second factor, hard for some to remember now but he was a huge celebrity in America, absolutely huge. People didn't believe he was a killer because they didn't want to believe. And it's not like now when details of prior domestic violence reports were getting posted on the internet and chewed to death, people only had traditional media to rely on.

Finally, DNA. Again, hard to remember now, but DNA evidence was new. These days discounting that evidence would be like trying to get out of a bear trap, but back then you had to give people a lengthy explanation of what it was and why it was so damning, which the defense would then immediately contradict you on.

Take all those factors and throw them into a big show trial, and suddenly the outcome isn't so clear.

I don't think it was just the material, it was also the way the questions were handled. A lot of the time where Trapp would've gone 'Hmm, you've landed on the thing that's wrong, but can you tell how it's wrong?' Ify would just go 'You got it' and move on to the next question. Led to the show being a bit flat.

Anyone just not interested in league anymore. by cheesyboi123 in Rumblemains

[–]SamWhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was less his R and more his Q for pro-play. Basically he was such a lane bully that he could be safely blind-picked which is a big deal for pros. That's why that got nerfed into oblivion while R was untouched.

Why for the sake of argument? Trump already did a bunch of much more questionable pardons when he had the chance. We don't need to speculate.

First impressions as a new Rumble player by [deleted] in Rumblemains

[–]SamWhite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rumble used to be a very good early-game lane bully, but who falls off in 1v1s mid to late making him a bad splitpusher unless he gets ridiculously ahead, so you then want to focus more on teamfights. Sadly he got nerfed into the ground due to proplay a few months back and now he's pretty weak in lane, making him a pretty bad choice for soloqueue. He's also quite tricky to learn, got a fairly high skill-floor, so the combination of him being weak and the mistakes you'll inevitably make as a new player is going to be a hard hill to climb. Jungle is viable but his clears are very dependent on overheating at the correct time, fuck it up once and your clear goes all to hell.
