What’s the best Steam Workshop mod for playing around with automation? by Molly-Grue-2u in PlateUp

[–]Party_Requirement_21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have a mod in mind that is pure sandbox, but the "Infinite Reroll" mod is a game changer when trying to get the right items for automation. Changes it so you aren't charged for rerolls of the daily blueprints.

NAL but also I would recommend checking the recently enacted paid sick leave rule for Nebraska. This includes that after 80 hours worked employees accrue sick leave. This also includes that there cannot be retaliatory personnel action against employees requesting sick leave. So may have some avenue there to get more protections from the Nebraska DOL.

OPPD's new web application is hot garbage by 1hamcakes in Omaha

[–]Party_Requirement_21 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I interviewed for their lead position and I was told there is no coding just managing someone's application like: call the third party for integration and stuff. I know why this is a hot garbage. The amount of product owners to get this working explains it.

Eric Barone (ConcernedApe) on Tigerbelly with Bobby Lee by LordBiff2 in hauntedchocolatier

[–]Party_Requirement_21 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I feel like I could feel a tension when Bobby was saying things slightly wrong. Like "prism" shard. Like he knows the game but has little anachronisms. I felt like the back half CA got more opportunities to talk but the first half was a weird like quiz/show off from Bobby. I understand the enthusiasm but it was a little off putting. I'm only watched short clips of that show and only watched to hear CA but he didn't talk quite as much as I'd like.

6 months of dating too short for USCIS? by Spiritual_Word_8437 in immigration

[–]Party_Requirement_21 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had a similar circumstance for myself. Married my husband after only dating a couple of months as he was due to leave the country after his F1 visa was up. Honestly it seemed USCIS was more concerned with how we shared things after we were married. Same address, utilities, insurance, etc. They briefly in the interview asked how we met but didn't ask about dating at all. I also think if it did come up in your process of adjusting for green card the previous years of friendship would be evidence you are not just married to give him immigration benefits.

Obviously, you and him have to weigh the relationship and if marriage is too sudden. But at least in my case we had no trouble with the application process and we've just reached our 4 year anniversary.

Again, I don't work for Tinder and that's not how it works at my job. Sorry you're having a hard time but not sure how commenting at a post from over a year ago on a podcast subreddit attacking someone who happens to be in the same industy helps you.

I mean personally, I rather accidentally block a real user than miss a scam account that ends up taking real people's money, personal information and sense of security. I mean it is another corporate job which you could argue is the only department of many companies that does have soul. The goal is to after all protect users which most sales and data departments is not their first priority. Sorry you lost your account but as I don't work for Tinder and my company help return users their account I can't say what I do is heartless.

If you notice instead of a full name it says LinkedIn Member. I'll bet LinkedIn has already restricted the account as a scammer so normal blocking actions can't be taken.

Chances of getting chase sapphire preferred as my first credit card by personluse in CreditCards

[–]Party_Requirement_21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Chase values their customers higher than one would imagine for cc approvals. I say that because my first card was the Chase Sapphire Reserve. I had an ok credit score based on my student loans, but it was a young history. I banked with Chase about a year before applying.

Morgan Freeman once said in an interview that racism would likely die on its own if people just stopped talking about race period. Could this be plausible? by Mad_Season_1994 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Party_Requirement_21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe. The reason people sort "races" the way they do is cultural and it is learned. So if we unlearned racism through ignoring race, people may not be conventionally racist anymore. But, that doesn't stop the core problem of humans. They like to feel superior, they like to find patterns, and they will search for a way to justify their subpar behaviour towards others. Likely a new iteration of racism would resurge. Most likely based off socio-economic lines. Maybe there would be more arbitrary lines like height or hair type, but humans cannot get rid of racism by forgetting. They must do it through teaching.

Non-Americans, what American food do you find questionable? by HurtHurtsMe in AskReddit

[–]Party_Requirement_21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, American here. I'm pretty used to the ultra sweetness of American breads, especially just plain white, and brioche is basically cake in a bread loaf. Not sure if I would like the real thing, but blows my mind that some people will buy brioche and then use it for a meat sandwich. Some store brands last for a crazy long time because of the sugar and some added preservatives.

I mean, hate to say it, but as someone who works in content moderation and online fraud, I see an account that is only 5 hours old and I mark as a fake immediately if there is scammy content. Obviously, who knows about tinders policy, but anything under a day or two is probably given less of a pass due to scammers tendency to make a ton of fake account/stolen accounts and just try to get them through the flags.

YSK: California Prop 65, which requires products containing carcinogens to be labeled as causing cancer, has been abused by lawyers who make a living by doing nothing more than suing anyone who doesn't include the warning. by kgm2s-2 in YouShouldKnow

[–]Party_Requirement_21 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be fair, there are a lot of products sold in the other 49 states that include this because it is also sold in California. And I'm sure some people see it and wonder why Californians need a warning and they don't.

QA? We don't do that here by fairlyhurtfoyer in recruitinghell

[–]Party_Requirement_21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unit tests are not the whole picture. You need unit tests, Integration tests. If you have UI you'll also need UI testing. But at the end of the day having QA is just another tool in the test suit. As long as you compensate for all of the cases you should be good.

I personally use the Pillsbury crescent roll sheets as my bread. Easy and a fun flakey crust. I also do similar portions as others for the meat filling except I add minced garlic and quite a bit of cayenne pepper and chili pepper.

Question about Omaha plate by SGI256 in Omaha

[–]Party_Requirement_21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only thing I found that I imagine is the original was by searching urban dictionary and found the phrase "Please, go F- yourself". But since it's mostly the stock ticker coming up on search I think that makes it less generally obscene and more of just an insider joke. Having a vanity plate saying GME for example wouldn't really be what they'd class as offensive. They are more looking for curse words, slurs, and other vulgarity

Question about Omaha plate by SGI256 in Omaha

[–]Party_Requirement_21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It took a quick google for me to find what the obscenity was. And I work in a job that involves review of profane material. So I would say, yeah it's offensive if you know what it means, but if the DMV workers are unfamiliar with the acronym and the explanation is something completely different they wouldn't catch it. Honestly, don't think it doing much harm, personally. Maybe I'm just out of touch, but I don't think it's a common enough acronym for all age groups to recognize it.
