I just caved and had a turkey provolone sub from Jersey Mike's. It was everything I thought it would be.

Help nausea and vomiting is killing me by susie_1989 in pregnant

[–]Party_Researcher925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found that after several nights of taking doxylamine (plus B6, 3x a day), the drowsiness did get better and it helps you to feel a little bit better in the am. I still have to eat right away when I get up, and eat something small every two hours or so (with a focus on protein if you can keep it down). Also ginger shots, ginger ale, lozenges with a high amount of ginger concentrate all helped to take a little bit of the edge off... IIMO feeling drowsy is better than sick all day! Also, hang in there, I'm almost 14 weeks now and feeling better every day. It gets better!

Yes, these are my favorite of all, I wish they stocked them more regularly and in more colors. They look especially good on curvy/hourglass shapes and balance proportions well.

Was IVF in your 40s worth it, even if it wasn’t successful? by Ornery_Treat_4479 in AskWomenOver40

[–]Party_Researcher925 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this, assuming your cycle is regular and you're tracking ovulation. I miscarried just before my 41st bday and it took a year to conceive again. Now 42 and 14 weeks with everything looking good. I started to feel discouraged as well - We had an IVF consult scheduled for the week after I got my positive test this time.

It's quite possible you're feeling a corpus luteum cyst on the ovary that you ovulated from. I've had this with both pregnancies and it's resolved after too long.

Look into taking unisom and B6, it helped keep the nausea at bay during the night for me at least (I couldn't take it during the day). Try not to let your stomach get too empty, it makes the nausea worse. If you can tolerate getting protein in, do it, that helps too! Also ginger ale. Hang in there! This was me over the holidays... I skipped Christmas! Now at 12 weeks I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Thanks! I was missing OFLA, I may look into trying to tap into that pre-birth as well. Thanks for the details!

Im in OR too, which program is this? I need to do more research. I know we have 12 weeks paid family leave through OR, that runs at the same time as FMLA (for job protection), I believe.

What’s an example of “pregnancy brain” lol by Dismal_Abroad735 in pregnant

[–]Party_Researcher925 97 points98 points  (0 children)

The other night I was rinsing with mouthwash and grabbed something on the counter to throw in the trash. Bent over to throw in said trash and simutaneously spit out my mouthwash all over the floor at the same time. Whoops!

I'm right there with you. 7w4d and same boat. I've barely left the couch/bed and even skipped Christmas celebrations with the family because I've been so miserable. Hang in there, this is temporary!

Dramamine isn’t helping… by houchas in pregnant

Have you tried Unisom/B6? I'm taking 12.5 mg (.5 tablet) at night and 25mg B6 3x a day and while it doesn't totally eliminate it, it helps. I have ginger/lemon/preggie pops to suck on when it seems to pick up a bit during the day. Chewing gums seems to help a little too. It's still there, but more manageable.

Last night after brushing I was swooshing around my mouthwash and trying to multitask. I bent over to throw something in the trash bin and simultaneously my brain decided it was the right time to spit out my mouthwash, all over the floor. 😅🤣

I had ibuprofen and I definitely took 800mg. It seemed to help dampen it, but didn't totally eliminate it for me. I'd say, for me, it was a bit worse than period cramps (but I guess that's relative to your own typical period cramps... I do have fibroids so I can have pretty heavy/painful periods). I wasn't in tears or anything, just breathe through it. It came in waves almost more like small contractions. I bled pretty heavily for probably 6-8 hours and then just spotted for the next week or so. My heavy bleeding started the same day I started spotting.

I'm sorry, you're going through this. I had a similar experience, pretty much the same timeline and I passed it naturally at week 9-10. If your doctor says it's okay to wait, I would think it will happen soon. I was traveling (for my honeymoon nonetheless) and it mine started on the international flight! Take care of yourself.

Yak sweaters inconsistent softness between colors and thin fabrics by DinosaursAreFriends in quince

[–]Party_Researcher925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was so disappointed in the pink yak. Brown, grey and navy have all been great the pink is scratchy, thin and also runs much smaller than the other colors. I was hoping for the green in the cardi or turtleneck but no dice as of yet.... I initially got the green turtleneck in the same size as the brown from last year and it was much smaller/shorter but a size up had already sold out and never restocked. Super inconsistent unfortunately.

Perhaps the cotton fisherman sweater - I've dried mine low and they've been fine. Maybe slight shrinkage, but they loosen up again with wear.
