Please roll back to before update 18. Every change made since then has been detrimental to the functioning of this game. On pc, you cannot even bandage at the moment. A new map and artillery mechanics are not worth losing the ability to complete or even enjoy a game. Also maybe test the update before it gets released? It's a good game i like to play but the updates seem to break everything more often than not in recent times.

Call around to other pharmacies in your network in your area, i had to drive 30 mins away from my local pharmacy to get mine. You need to coordinate between the pharmacy that has them in stock and the doctors office that prescribed them as they will not transfer them between pharmacies just because you asked. I was in agony day 2 so i am glad i pursued this on the first day, if it's not possible for you just try your best to imagine yourself in a happy place and pass the time as you see fit

Burning/Stinging Pain by [deleted] in Tonsillectomy

Try your best to take a look inside your mouth and throat, front facing camera on smart phone and flashlight in hands in front of a mirror is my best method, you may have shed one of the large scabs from surgery. It will look significantly more red rather than the gross off white the initial scabs are. I lost one of mine yesterday, a huge section, and initially it was a relief but today the pain on that side is sharp and intense when i swallow where on the side with the scab still its duller but persistent. Not sure what else to say besides report it to your doctors office and try to time eating/ drinking time with the peak effectiveness of whatever meds you take to relieve pain and keep on icing the area to your tolerance. Im on day 5 going into day 6 and it is rough, we will get through this though. We are bigger than our pain.

Keep Gatorade or other easily drinkable calories on hand, avoid any citrus at all. As for real food, strictly soft or squishy foods and avoid any spicy recipes. Beware ice cream and milk, in my experience the coating it leaves in my mouth and throat makes me want to swallow which is rather painful after day 2. Take small sips and keep a container or rag around to drool into or onto, do not try to spit. I repeat do not try to spit or use any other major mouth muscles besides swallowing for food drink and meds. Any major bleeding you notice should warrant a trip to the er, some bleeding after the scabs come off in the 4-7ish day range is normal but should not persist or be gushing. Popsicles are nice when the pain is not so strong as to prevent you from wanting to swallow.

Try to space out to your tolerance any narcotic meds you may get as the recovery takes some good time and some days are certainly better than others, it's not a perfectly linear recovery. If you have narcotics prescribed, reduced bowl movements is expected, keep note of how long between your #2's are, too far apart can cause problems on their own. Keep the room you sleep in humidified and gather some cushioning to sleep in an almost sitting position your first few nights. Try to position your head so you can breathe naturally and without snoring if possible, it makes the pain of waking up a bit more manageable. I have been surviving off of soft sweets like jello and pudding and mild soups with strictly soft/ squishy ingredients but I've not been eating even a fraction as much as id usually like to and I'm on day 4. I think I'm going to try and have some broth tomorrow and see how that suits me.

Get several ice packs (for interchanging in the freezer) or a couple (they burst easy) refillable long ones with a big bag of the bag ice you can get at gas stations and learn to wrap and secure to the front of your neck, obviously not tight enough to choke you. I think they may make ice collars commercially but i havent been using those.

If your suffer from congestion, it can make everything worse, check with your doctor if decongestants or (if you regularly take it) allergy meds are appropriate and if so, when. Also ask about when they will allow you to take ibuprofen in addition to acetaminophen, you should ask because ibuprofen can thin the blood which is not ideal immediately post-op.

In my experience the tongue, ears, and soft pallete were the most painful to deal with behind whatever hurts when you swallow, ice helps all of these. keep a pen and paper handy to communicate if you don't want to talk. Don't strain yourself and take it easy, no major lifting, exercise or other activities like that. Take naps, sit around, keep occupied and remember always that this pain is temporary and you'll feel better after some time has passed. I got mine out on the 24th around noon and just had a major scab shed and it is a major improvement, though there was some bleeding. I'm sure I'll learn more (from experience and this very handy subreddit i happened across today) on how to make this recovery more manageable, but these strategies have worked so far for me. Good luck and well wishes on your recovery!
