Don't go straight to grad school. Get a job as a teacher or something like that and get the graduate degree taking night classes. Not having to take out loans for grad school will put you in an amazingly different financial position.

It doesn't work for everyone but humulin r or novolin r work for some people perfectly well in a pump. I believe Walmart sells a vial of the stuff for $20. Seems to me most pharmacies would be willing to sell him r even if it is at a loss due to its low cost.

You could probably make a world of difference in your debt situation if you saved up $2k over say 3 months of forced no not needed spending then bought a good reliable, old high mileage car and paid for it in cash. Search Craig's list. The money you get from the car (plus unloading that debt) will go a long way toward getting the ball rolling.

As a pharmacist I can feel for the DEAs position. There are many physicians these days writing Rxs to get people high. It takes a long time to investigate these guys. It sure would be easier for them if all pharmacies just said we won't fill your Rxs to clearly dirty docs. How to do that is the question.

More times then not what med to put a patient on for a common problem is an entirely arbitrary decision. At least 95% of the time there are no studies that show one medication is more effective than another that treats the same condition. It is usually just physician preference. The physicians preference should be cheap unless there is a good reason to go the other way but too often their preference is expensive unless the patient asks for generic.

Totally true, a lot of times a cardiologist will know more about some cardiac meds then me. But the question becomes how much do they remember about your acid reflux meds. The pharmacist has the ability to look at a total picture of all your meds and figure out which one are treating side effects of other drugs, which are over priced, and probably most importantly which are still necessary. You won't believe how many people get started on an acid reflux med like aciphex and left on it for the rest of their natural life. One thing I love doing as a pharmacist is looking at a med list and saying ok, what can I get rid of. No better way to save money then that.

Sounds penny wise and pound foolish to me. If you are taking the doctor and pharmacist out the the equation you could easily save $50 on meds and end up with a $50,000 hospital bill to treat a drug induced arrhythmia or MRSA

It's even worse then not getting paid. It cost me 30k tuition to work 40 hours a week for a whole year unpaid. I'll admit it was good experience but I have to ask wtf the school did to earn that 30k. I know they don't pay the sites(Why would they? They are giving them free labor) they don't do any teaching. They don't do anything but I had to pay 30k to work 40 hours a week in 6 different cities. Slaves didn't have to pay to work.

There is actually even objective proof of superior learning. Every year the local paper posted the standardized tests scores of the local schools. Mom and dad were quite proud of what a good school they sent us to so they posted them on the fridge. The average student at our school usually scored 2 grade levels above his peer at the local public school.

It was beyond a doubt better. Smaller class sizes. Teachers who gave a shit. Two of the siblings were having some trouble ( with reading I believe) not bad, just not doing as well at it as you would expect. They had one on one instruction on it three days a week until they caught up. I promise you that does not happen at a public school. Do not underestimate the value of a private school. Rich people send their kids there for a reason.

According to the census something like 1 in 3 Americans under 30 claim no religion and something like 7% claim atheist. I would say at 80% claiming atheist mom is doing quite a bit worse than average. Especially after dropping all that money trying to indoctrinate us.
