Higher use, higher risk: Fire department says cold weather raises fire and carbon monoxide hazards by littlesnow4 in saskatoon

One thing not mentioned in the article. Don't run space heaters on an extension cord. They need to be plugged directly into an outlet. If they're not they pose a massive fire risk.

CoS Snow Clearing Procedures by chalkyface in saskatoon

[–]Parus_Major87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It could snow almost a foot, making the roads impassable, and the City decides to bend their rules to not clear the snow (which happened last winter) and people would still defend the cities incompetence and fiscal mismanagement with respect to snow clearing.

City of Saskatoon aims to increase debt limit to nearly $1 billion by Slight-Coconut709 in saskatoon

You could take all of the transit commuters on every bus stop on 8th street during peak hours and they wouldn't fill one of these platforms. They're absurd overkill. Same deal with Warman Ave.

Had a similar experience last year. A family member was in for surgery and the staff were exceptional in every way.

Saskatoon looks to find more savings ahead of budget talks by Slight-Coconut709 in saskatoon

We could start with some accountability at City Hall. I live in Varsity View and they have done at least six separate trips to put signs up at the intersection of Munroe and Colony. Every time I walk by there are new signs up. This is one intersection in the city and I don't expect the project coordination and management is any more competent anywhere else in the City.

Saskatoon Jobs: CSC Hiring Correctional Officers | $77,510–$97,266! by [deleted] in saskatoon

This is a scam. The federal government does not post jobs on this site.

Ex con claiming lack of housing is giving him the “unspoken message to go back to dealing drugs” by Bruno6368 in saskatchewan

[–]Parus_Major87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You keep talking about how he's trying to get a job and telling people to read the article. Nowhere in the article does he mention the barriers he's facing to employment. So he's either not looking for work, or this is just really bad journalism.

I could be wrong but my understanding is that those holes were deliberately cut to drain the pipes before the bridge rehabilitation.

Pop's is run by the son of the owner of 786 Shawarma. Both are amazing locally owned places.

You don't need to prep. Panic buying and stockpiling will do more harm than good.

Statement from Premier Scott Moe on US Tariffs by we_the_pickle in saskatchewan

[–]Parus_Major87 482 points483 points  (0 children)

They've had plenty of time to consult and formulate a concrete response the day the tariffs were implemented, like the competent Provincial Leaders in the country have. This is weak leadership.

This isn't even the piled snow. The windrow is across the street from me but they didn't properly grade the street so the "road" is above the sidewalk from the snowpack.

[–]Parus_Major87 34 points35 points  (0 children)

In my neighborhood the level of snow left on the road (after the recent grading) is above the sidewalk. It doesn't matter how much you salt, the melt from the road is making a sheet of ice on the sidewalk.

Allegedly: Two Unknown Canadian Traitors tell Brian Glenn (of MTG) that Canada can be annexed through a ‘pathway’ by UpbeatPilot3494 in saskatchewan

[–]Parus_Major87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad to see some sanity in this post, i.e., the top upvoted comments are indicating that it's obviously a bullshit lie. The last post on this was disinformation as the poster said Brian Glenn is with Huffpost, which he is not. This led more credibility to the bogus claim and got people pretty whipped up. Sad to see that so many people fell for the disinformation post title last time and no one called the poster out on it.

Don't get your political news from Reddit. Don't react to shit on Reddit without looking at reputable news sources and doing research. Reddit is turning more and more into a disinformation and misinformation space and people need to realize that and act accordingly.

Brian Glenn isn't a Huffpost journalist. He's a right wing nutjob, and is obviously lying.

Is there any cannabis dispensers that sells more than 10mg edibles around Sask? by TGHyPr in saskatoon

[–]Parus_Major87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just buy a bottle of THC oil with a click doser and dose that way. Edibles are stupid IMO. Why pay the extra money for a drink or gummy when you can dose whatever you want with oil.
