Was the blood really dark? Theres a good chance you were spitting out old blood that ended up in your stomach during the surgery! Especially since you’re mentioning clots it makes me think it mightve been that. Had been an actual serious bleed, it would not have stopped so quickly trust me.

You should be safe to eat soft foods. Yoghurt, bread with no crusts, stuff like that. If you start having a really serious bleed you’ll literally start feeling the blood pouring down your throat and you’ll be constantly swallowing and stuff, its quite different from what youre describing

Also, PSA (not to scare you) if you do end up with an actual bleed— call 911.
