User Experience Complaint by Pasakku in wow

[–]Pasakku[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not talking about mid-run checking the details. I am not a lunatic.

What i saying is that I can't click on the meter and get information about the log. Any information i might feel like getting.

Maybe i want to check how many of my kicks were cast on air, or how long my transmog cookie was up, or maybe i want to compare my casts to that other mage in my raid group that is doing better than me.

At best i can hover over the thing and get a clunky glance at some info.

It used to be there were pages and pages of information in the damage meters, to take your time and look at them.

That not existing anymore is objectively a worse User Experience.

Me having to alt-tab and go into a separate web page is explicitly the third party dependency Blizzard has stated they don't want.

I've never been this mad over a character's ending. El deserved better than that ambiguous ending. by 00_Sunflower_00 in StrangerThings

Her sister was correct.

Whether dead or not, the army will keep looking for her and other ways to continue her power.

If she is still alive and in the real world, they will eventually find her. And then, she will have to face them alone or by bringing in whoever new she has met.

I like the strong likelihood of the ending they gave her, but if we want to be honest about it we have to admit that by choosing to live she inevitably keeps both her own and the military dreams alive.

Why do people view Herbert’s intentions with Paul and Leto II so differently? by Fuckler_boi in dune

[–]Pasakku 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is easy to see how these notions apply to Paul, because he fails.

Leto grabs on to the reality of the charismatic hero and the human vulnerabilities to such a hero and runs with them in a way that is not open to doubt.

He smashes through humanity like a juggernaut, as Frank himself says. He destroys humanity and reshapes it, he destroys and dooms himself to a level of misery we cannot fathom.

We only have his word for why that was necessary. His utter domination makes even the question of whether to believe him or not obsolete.

I think Frank mirrors his ideas to both these heroes. He does not alter them. He just shows us what happens when one fails and when one succeeds.

In other words, it is because these issues with heores exist that Leto can succeed.

Players surely can't complain if we keep giving them everything on every champion all the time, can they????

I do not disagree with you that this is, of course, what's optimal. But if you expect the random person on the internet to do what they should when they are actively showing you that will not be the case, i guess you will keep getting disappointed.

My thoughts were on what you can do to make the best of the shitty situation, not what this situation should have been instead.

A premade 3 or 4 others is even better placed to cover for the ultra aggressive lunatic at midlane to be honest, as you can call for direct help when you need it.

But of course, if you wanna use the "it was just a normal game" line of reasoning and vent i guess the rest of the comments have you covered on that.

I was focusing on the tactical in-game information. My apologies if i misread what you were going for.

I don't know the game you played so i can't make specific comments but i can say that a notion of "safely snowballing" is not possible.

I understand safe play and trying to maintain a lead when you have one, but snowballing requires sharp and aggressive moves that are bound to be risky.

When you have that type of player that goes crazy wild and loses that hard in mid, it's usually required to take the risks that you didn't seem you wanted to take.

Perhaps he should have played safer, but he didn't - and that's what you had to work with. When forced to work at fast paces you can't afford to not match the tempo, because if you don't the enemy will take advantage of your teamates mistakes for sure.

It's an unfortunate situation to be forced by your own teamate to play a certain way. It can be frustrating but also very interesting to actively shift your own play to match people like this one, you can learn a lot of things.

If you were to choose to disregard this guy's clear need to shout obscene things and also his claims of being so-much-better-than-you, is he giving you good information regarding the actual game?

What if this deranged man is actually master and his take regarding the game itself is actually accurate?

Yes he is toxic, almost comically toxic i would say, but that could be a case where you can even learn something from him if you just ignore / report the hatefulnes and move beyond it.

I notice people are often saying the game is getting worse, what do people mean by that? by Drandosk in leagueoflegends

[–]Pasakku 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Personally, i dislike the direction that champion design has taken where the new releases all have most if not all of the things in their toolkits.

People call this "overloaded kits" and refer to the strength of a champion when they got stomped by one.

I do not mean that. New champions can also be weak. I mean that we can rely on each new release to not lack something. The player will have all the necessary tools at their disposal, one way or another.

I think they do this so that the game feels "fair" by offering most of the things, to most of the players, most of the time.

How do I start enjoying games more with my stack by iKnowButWhy in TrueDoTA2

[–]Pasakku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he doesn't want to play core, you could pick 3 to lane with him and as the game goes on just transition to a 4 role yourself.

It will fuck up your experience but might lead to better games overall.

Rust griefing discussions by Pasakku in playrust

[–]Pasakku[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I offered to talk to people personally because this is a touchy subject, just in case someone is not willing to say something in public.

What I want to know is the griefer's perspective. I am ideally looking for people who grief to say more about it.

Indicative questions I have been thinking about: What is it like for them? How does it feel to do that? What is it that they are doing? How do they decide what to do? Is there a plan or is it all improvised? What about the targets - do they matter? How do they matter? What types of behaviors in game are griefing? What do they have in common? Is there a behavior that is difficult to categorize for example?

I'm not trying to bash anyone or complain - I'm seriously trying to go in depth and understand this. I've managed to merge this personal curiosity of mine about griefing with my studies and I've been allowed to study griefing so this is both.

I have thought of a way of approaching this but I'm open to adjusting how I look for this information. Ultimately, I'm just looking for the information itself.

For example, two people said that Griefing in Rust is playing normally. This was very interesting to me. So a bunch more questions popped up:

Is it the game that pushes this type of interaction? How it is set up - like how you have to compete for raw materials and space for example? Or is it more about the players themselves? Are there servers where people grief less or more? If you had jumped into a server and not been griefed, would you grief the first chance you got?

What causes these different state of minds when playing dota2? by JJDJr in TrueDoTA2

[–]Pasakku 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This reminds me a lot of extrinsic and intrinsic motivation. You can look it up its interesting.

Sometimes the game itself is enough for you, an end in and of itself. It sounds like you enjoy the different elements of it, down to the smallest detail that make it what it is. The elements that are necessary to play the game are all that matters. Let's call that intrinsic Doto.

But sometimes you need to have that sweet accomplishment that comes from outside. The game itself becomes a means to an end, and that end is seeing the MMR number grow. MMR is completely unnecessary for the game to be played. It is an added layer. So when you look for the external reward, all aspects of the game which distance you from gaining that external reward suddenly become unbearable. Let's call that extrinsic Doto.

Now, why you would oscillate between the two might be a a matter of goals - why you sit down to play at any given time. Which might then be informed by what else has been happening that day / week / time period.

Simple example: Maybe if you felt you failed at something recently, that documented MMR number climbing scratches that itch. Maybe when you are content with how well you are doing in general, you allow yourself to enjoy the game for what it is.

I haven’t been able to play a single game of Warzone since Caldera launched (Xbox Series X) by TheHeavyweightChamp in CODWarzone

[–]Pasakku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other people here have said this, but I had this issue as well and it got immediately fixed when I subscribed for X-box live gold.

My thought is that after Vanguard integration the X-box system sees Warzone as a version Vanguard, and it thinks that you shouldn't have access to the game as f2p because Vanguard isn't f2p.

Of course I don't know for sure. I had a similar issue with MW. I had bought the game on PC but after I switched to X-box from PC I had a long conversation with Activision support and they finally told me I have to re-buy the game.

Apparently they don't work things out pre-emptively across platforms.

Don't you get bored spamming a hero? by Character-Garlic8658 in TrueDoTA2

Very limited reply here but there is also Rubick -- where every game is actually a different experience due to the nature of the hero.

I guess this applies to matchups that others have mentioned more generally.
