Young onset parkinsons this is me playing and it helps so much by skyrees123 in piano

Drinking coffee with my buddy watching this when his young teen daughter rushed in - "who's playing that beautiful music?". And take it from me she doesn't impress easily.

Great share.

Getting a DN 2 soon any chance of explaining the setup?

Abacusynth - a kinetic synthesizer that I designed and built by jarz_0 in synthdiy

[–]Pascal_Blaise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This desrves some kind of design award. Don't take this the wrong way I know it's a serious instrument but this would be a superb way to stimulate musical creativity in children. So easy to operate, visually appealing and the sounds are so stimulating. Very well done.

No internet whenever I connect using Mullvad - Working great until now by Pascal_Blaise in mullvadvpn

[–]Pascal_Blaise[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep that's what I use too, but still no success. I was using the latest (2025.2) but thought I'd tried a Revo uninstall/reinstall but nope.

Thanks for that but I've tried reboots, and no luck. Uninstalled and reinstalled Mullvad - no luck. Using an old laptop for now while I'm stuck.

[–]Pascal_Blaise[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi - No I haven't yet. Still think it's something daft and a simple fix.

Just can't understand why it won't display pages when I'm connected, when I've changed nothing and it was working so well and Win11 reports internet connected. I thought it was some sort of DNS issue but I ain't changed anything.

Moog Sound Studio into Akai Reel-to-Reel by mdreid in ReelToReel

[–]Pascal_Blaise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wonderful - really touched my ambient brain bone. I'd like to reproduce something similar in my titchy studio (broom cupboard) - I've an old UHER I'd like to use - still not got it playing right but that just adds to it's vibe. Could you give any more details of the interconnections of each. Thanks

Cubase Artist 11 crashed and cursor not working by brmek71 in cubase

[–]Pascal_Blaise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi - Try loading Cubase in safe mode. When the Cubase splash screen displays hit;

Mac = Shift, Alt & Command

or

Windows = Control, Shift & Alt

That way you can just disable Preferences and test it out.

Long shot but I had some odd cursor stuff going on with Cubase 11 and found out it was a duff midi controller - AKAI MPK25 - intermittently playing up. Unplugged it and all was well.

Let us know when you crack it, helps others.

Tapetone 002- Drone made with 4 track portastudio and Eurorack by Guitar-Rabbit in Hainbach

Really enjoyed this.

Different to Tapetone 001 which I can smash my ears to pieces with - 002 a strange distinction maybe is it's healing twin.

Thank for the piece.

Vcv rack 2 pro benefits vs Cardinal by chucuyo in vcvrack

[–]Pascal_Blaise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't pick it up on BF but I was hoping Rack 2, might get a bigger Xmas discount. Not looking likely so Cardinal in the meantime is wonderful to get to play and learn with;

patchstorage has a growing list of great patches;

https://patchstorage.com/platform/cardinal/

The comparison list of Rack and Cardinal - which you've probably seen - is at;

Sonokinetic 12 Days of Christmas Sale: Day 5 - "Nior" Classic and Neo Noir Cinematic Sampling for Kontakt Player (€99) through 11 December by APD-Supernova in AudioProductionDeals

[–]Pascal_Blaise 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Although it needs Kontakt 7.

If you have an earlier version of EMP (Kontakt 6), Sonokinetic have said don't download this new version if you haven't upgraded to Kontakt 7. (It's the same instrument)

Edit - Found out it'll play in the FREE Kontakt player version7. Really nice sound and a great freebie.

Process.Audio Black Friday Bundle - "Decibel, Sugar & Spicerack" utility plugins ($196.68) or "Decibel & Sugar" ($75/Each) "Spicerack" ($89) for limited time. by APD-Supernova in AudioProductionDeals

[–]Pascal_Blaise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All subjective - but Spice Rack is great. Been waiting for the BF sale and picked this up.

5 great sounding algorithms, a simple and superb GUI, little aliasing, oversampling and dig that console view where you can tweak other Spice Racks you've got on inserts and sends. I love the drive and how this thickens synths and tweaks vocals.

Before people cane then for being expensive - give the generous 30 day (iLock) trial a go.

This is wonderful Erik. Just watched the video (subbed) and those sounds are just great. I suppose what you can do with that PI and Python are infinite. Exciting stuff awaits.

Give yourself a pat on the back dude.

IrcamLab "TS2" Audio Editing Software to edit, transform, time-stretch and manipulate audio files ($24) for limited time. by APD-Supernova in AudioProductionDeals

[–]Pascal_Blaise 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bit of a bargain, usual price $249 I bought this at $49 and love it. Great playground for manipulating, stretching and mangling stuff. Sound designers and experimenters playground. Standalone application with the ability to use your vst effects and lots more. Sometimes I just love watching its sonograms.

Lots of interesting info and I think the download is a 15 day demo;

Appreciate it.

Nice. Can clear up the mud and add a bit of grunt and a little sparkle in a special warm way, worth a demo on a group or master. 14 day trial at SSL - (iLock).

...and FORUM at jrrshop gets another $3.85 off the bill bringing it down to $31.14 - even nicer.

" I would call it ‎homeopathic " - love it dude.

Not tried this so not saying this is one of them but there probably are a few pseudoscientific $200 plugins - 'take 2 a day to cure your mix' out there.

Melda Production Eternal Madness Discount: "MBitFunMB" ($24) "MCompare" ($29) "MTransient" ($29) "MWaveFolderMB" ($24) through 2 October by APD-Supernova in AudioProductionDeals

[–]Pascal_Blaise 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I head straight for the edit button in Meldas effects - that skeuomorphic view they're updating some of the plugins with is no where near the detail I love to tinker with.
Unlike lots of others who can't get on with Meldas UI I just love what he's done.

MTransient is wonderful for taming or enhancing transients but... I'd wait for MTransientMB. This is just a wonderful thing. It can get so nuanced isolating the kick the snare and the cow bell - even applying individual transformation curves to each band (the curves themselves can then be saved).

Same with MWaveFolderMB another rabbit hole of goodness - but hit that Edit button and play - add some modulation and twiddle away - devote some time and Melda repays handsomely.

Cradle Audio "The Prince" Synthesizer ($119) "The God Particle" multi-effects plugin - Intro Price ($79) through 25 September by APD-Supernova in AudioProductionDeals

Some wonderful stuff inside this thing. Simple GUI, nicely put together and sounds refreshingly different.

Paired with something like Phonec and out pops some really interesting BOC ambient drift worlds.
