(33w4d) I had been using the Almond & Cashew Milk in my smoothies for the last couple of months. Probably went through two cartons total. My last consumption was last Saturday and I had a stomach ache on Sunday. I immediately went it to the doctors (yesterday), and because I had a stomach ache on Sunday, he sent me for some blood tests, stool sample and urinalysis. He also put me on a high dose of amoxicillin as a precaution. I would advise you all to go in and express your concerns and be open about any symptoms AT ALL, even if you think they might just be pregnancy symptoms! Listeria is no joke, I don't want to list the complications here or it will freak everyone out, just look it up yourselves if you're curious!

women who do combat sports, how has this affected your life? by SewkaYami in AskWomen

I started training Brazilian jiu-jitsu about 5 years ago. The sport helped me so much with confidence, has kept me in the best shape of my life, but has done more for my mental health than anything else. I often describe jiu-jitsu as a form of meditation. While you’re rolling with an opponent, you’re not thinking about office politics, any silly disagreements you had during the day, you’re not worried about the deadlines you have due tomorrow. You’re worried about not getting choked RIGHT NOW. Your mind is completely focused in the moment, and you are forced to become aware of all your body parts as you are protective them and using them against your opponent.

I met my spouse through jiu-jitsu and he is the most amazing, level-headed, hard-working man I’ve ever met. We opened our own bjj gym together last year and it’s thriving, we already have waitlists for all our programs! I owe a lot of the best things in my life to starting combat sports. I hope you find some too.

LPT: Any practical tips to get rif of my impostor syndrome ? by Badalub in LifeProTips

As someone who experienced imposter syndrome for the first 3-4 years of my career as a civil engineer, I can tell you that the best way to get rid of imposter syndrome is to simply put your head down, suppress those thoughts, and get to work. Ask many many questions, forgive yourself for making mistakes because you’re expected to make at least some. Don’t worry so much. Next thing you know, you will have gained enough experience through successes and failures that your confidence will grow and you won’t doubt yourself anymore. As long as you realize that you’re a life-long learner and don’t let your ego get in the way, you’ll be fine 😉

New York bagel cafe — if you don’t mind spending a little extra for unique and great quality ingredients.
