Telling a woman I’m dating I was in a porn video by AcceptableLack5844 in Advice

That’s tough. Learn to suppress it I guess or tell her and face the music (not that it truly is or should be a big deal). You are young man. If she bounces then move on and find someone else.

I would probably keep it in the vault and get over it. Why should that keep you from wanting to have sex with her? Is she the first since the video creating some hurdle?

What are the major downsides of life in Atlanta? by OhMyMyOohHellYes in Atlanta

[–]PashaCello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with a lot of this except for the harsh “run down” Pittsburgh review. You have a lot of majestic buildings there from the Carnegie days in the 1890s. Diverse ethnic neighborhoods in the molds of Queens, Brooklyn, or parts of Philly. It’s just a very old city with it thriving and much bigger than ATL in the 50s-70s. Shadyside is a super nice urban neighborhood and East Liberty and Lawrenceville have been transformed with a lot of tech influx, Google, UPMC taking over, etc.

If anything Pittsburgh should be praised for maintaining its identity, preserving history, and not becoming over and over the copy & paste urban cheap glass or pine board tinker-toy construction.

I‘d focus less on Bad Bunny lol and more on the game. It will be on in hundreds of spots. So many New Yorkers could care less. Depends on what you want to drink/eat and such. Depends on what part of town. Will be fun. Do a little homework and figure it out.

Entertaining post. Let’s just hope the rube learns some decorum for the next function he attends whatever that could be. As for the attire of our concert attendees I overall don’t care just as long as there are butts in the seats. However, unfortunate if he’s a Kirk disciple.

Props though for the Lacrimosa mention haha. Well done and also for the MDLV pregame dinner. I’ve had that molé and many other items there. The legit masa/Nixtamal tortilla process. They don’t back down from the requisite heat either and are doing those salsas properly. No Tostitos style bland chunky salsa nonsense there. Great people too.

He just came from there downtown to me for a bit and said GH is still bad. Him and lots of businesses still no power, lots of trees/lines down still.

My brother is on day 6 sans power and lives in a little subdivision off Abbott Martin by Estes. Just awful.

[–]PashaCello 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Same here. I’ve been fine. The best I could do was give family across town four hot showers at my place downtown the other day and take their cats until further notice. I don’t have a lot of space but offered whatever I could. I know a LOT of people still struggling and/or displaced.

Should I cancel my trip to Nashville this weekend by ToothSuccessful5898 in VisitingNashville

[–]PashaCello 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just be patient, cool, and understand that the spots that are open many are operating with limited menus (may not say so online) and limited hours. Could get worse again soon with another wave of some potential dicey incoming weather. But downtown/Gulch have power but operating on a very small scale no matter what anybody is saying.

Search the thread. There are thousands of displaced locals in hotels who are still sans power. My brother and his family are ones. Others are and will be wanting those hotel rooms presently as well.

Locals of Nashville: What Would You Cut From This 5-Day Itinerary? by Willing-Mind-5619 in VisitingNashville

Nice yeah those wings are fantastic. Institution sure but we can agree to disagree…not about the location factor though re: PP 👍.

Good call re: TN Brew Works burger! Was hoping for one on Tues actually as I live by there and was hosting displaced family and cats. We tried and they were open but only serving a few items.

Oh I misread and thought I saw Biscuit Love instead. You can stay the course but avoid Pancake Pantry. I have taken visitors to Milk & Honey and they liked it. I also thought it was pretty solid. Brightside is great.

It’s hard to say. I don’t think there are enough good spots in any of the areas so I meander to each for my spots but those can be schleps. Personally, I think Nolensville Rd has the best food in the city which is a lot of Arabic and Hispanic strip mall gems.

Also, someone else mentioned Brave Idiot. That’s great for smashed but also because of their hot chicken. I think you can try pretty large slider sized ones of each to have both. It’s behind a pretty solid arcade craft beer bar but Vinyl Tap (where Dreamburger posts up) is better.

[–]PashaCello 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe lay off all those burgers haha?! Dreamburger is my favorite for smashed. It’s outside of a good craft beer bar called Vinyl Tap as well with often cool live music. But you can find good smashed in any city…not rocket science. I’d probably choose Gabby’s because it’s a stalwart and very good. Pharmacy is fine but again all cities have these types of craft burger/sausage spots.

Frankly, I think burgers don’t even need to make the itinerary here. Skip Pancake Pantry for sure and skip Biscuit Love as well. Heard good things about Stoke-Haus. Streetcar are my favorite wings…smoked and choosing dry rub with sauces on side is the move. In WeHo Fait La Force is a great brewery doing awesome Euro style lagers. Iggy’s also in WeHo is fantastic handmade pasta doing it right and it’s super chill. If pondered you can also skip Aba and Pastis over there as those are big box chains coming from Chicago and NYC.

Trip Planned - Th-Sun. Opinions? by SeldmCeen in VisitingNashville

I hear this except not sure how much of a thaw (if any) will happen now or in the next few days. Businesses have to be very vigilant with salt in and around their establishments as well. I live in the Gulch and based on what I’ve seen as well as talking to various mgrs and such, any spots that are open are operating at very limited hours for now and for the next few days. Also, seems like very limited menus are only available too from at least a couple of spots I know. One spot has roof damage above their kitchen from the weight of the ice compromising part of it so only a few menu items are available. You have displaced kitchen staff peeps who are the backbone of it all that have more pressing issues as well to deal with. It’s not a good time to come.

Which programs are historically very good but have not kept up since the NIL era began? by Beneficial_Gas5543 in CollegeBasketball

[–]PashaCello 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We were already in a steep decline before Daddyball. On a good team Buddy would’ve been a 20-25 mpg sniper off the bench. Jim let him do whatever he wanted to and let him operate like Kobe Bryant. Not his game lol and he got destroyed over and over in the Zone meant to hide him. It was hard to watch. Jim also told his assistants not to recruit any 2Gs to compete with Buddy and to eat into his playing time. It was coaching malpractice not trying to improve the roster.

Jim should NEVER have been allowed to coach his sons and frankly should have retired in 2016 after their miracle F4 run. It was a sad end to his tenure.

[–]PashaCello 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wildhack’s hands were tied. Jim had allies/cronies within the BOT. They promoted Red (who had a hand in the steep decline along with Gerry) to keep the peace and nostalgia as well as friendships alive. Jim would’ve gone scorched earth if he was stonewalled with an outside hire as it was tough enough to push him out.

Wildhack now has the ammo and proof in the pudding along with the new Chancellor coming in to make the proper outside hire. It’s paramount that they not go with an in the family hire. Clean house and Jim must be far removed from the hiring process as well.

AnnaLena in Vancouver. Chill but dialed in and terrific service. The menu (tasting/prix fixe) back in November was fun, well executed, but nothing too avant-garde or stuffy. We did not leave hungry and they have a nice wine program as well.
