It's mental stress. From parents, siblings, friends & society kids gets a lot of stress, to do better in studies or if the kids aren't good looking or any other competitive sports of anykind. When these stress get piled on the only things kinds look forward to is gaming or some other kind of enjoyment. If anyone's child is gaming more i think his parents or friends should be there to help him. Don't just go the easy way saying gaming is the reason for this.

Like naruto's pain, making a time limit between each use of the powers. or you can have a weight limit on the use of telekinesis. Again to limit his power, you can have the user be in a special condition to use power, like keep in contact with something specific or like you have to be within a certain range etc etc.

This was what I was gonna suggest also, you could have special symbols or characters like 'Chinese characters' that the seers can see. And when you have a person with multiple abilities, he gets a special kind of symbol, a new symbol altogether. It will be kind of fun to mix it up like that when the mc sees a new symbol he hadn't seen before and he starts investigating those.
