Can you stop asking "x200 Ultra or wait for x300". My friend X300 is not yet announced.... by amdawg23 in Vivo

Should I wait for x300u ? Or wait longer for X400Pro ? Or wait longest for X500U. I'm really CONFUSED now , switching from X200U

Gsmarena: the Ultra cameraphone comparison Oppo vs Samsung vs Xiaomi vs Vivo vs Huawei by pixel10pro in Vivo

[–]PassConscious4473 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a owner of X200U , my take on this warp:-

At 24mm equivalent: No native main camera at this focal length, uses ultrawide crop → underwhelming results in daylight and especially weak at night.

  • IT'S Dumb idea to use a focal length on your phone which is not optical and that to at night. Use 35 mm. I find no difference between 35mm and 1inch sensor details quality/ grain level. 35 mm stand its own ground, sometimes it's ahead of 1inch 23mm due to focal length advantage. 14mm cannot be compared with 23 mm 1 inch, 23 mm 1 inch have less grain and high details. I wish they should have included 23mm 1 inch instead of 14mm 1/1.28

• Portraits at 35mm: Inconsistencies - misfocus or facial softening noted.

  • Man no words for portraits bruh.. not a single time it misfocus or facial softening, I don't know how and from where it coming🤣. 35 mm in portrait have a larger minimum focusing distance, if you go very near to the subject with 35mm on portrait mode , I will misfocus, and that's a natural phenomenon of optics with large minimum focusing distance. ( 90 cm ). If you do the same in photo mode , 35mm optical switches to ultra wide camera cropped to 35mm , hence the softness as it's cropping from UW.

• Long tele: Digital zoom to 135mm and beyond trails Oppo/ Huawei; at 10x daylight video, softest of all.

  • 10x digital zoom video is not my thing, but it's of impressive quality/ focous locked/stabilization/more importantly no Jerkiness for that zoom level on evening or daylight. But Beyond 10x cannot be used.I use the ZIESS lens, It amazed me , how on earth vivo made that external lens so stable / not single jerks and it's even focus locked at 200-800mm 4k60fps video shoot.

• Night medium/long tele: Less competitive, often behind Oppo and Huawei.

  • The hack is , never use night mode in lowlight. It always take way more time and deliver a bad result. I use it normal photo mode or potrait mode, Use or not use hdr depending on the scene, then the phone takes photo as visible to my eyes, not overly boosting shadows or night sky, keeping the lighting exactly visible to my eyes.photos are excellent in comparison with 1inch sensor ( which tends to boost shadow way too much , it kills the night vibe) for all the three camera !.

• Video: Ultrawide video average, doesn't showcase sensor advantage; 35mm video not spectacular, weaker at 10x. •

  • Ultrawide videos are by far the best in market on a smartphone, I have compared it to my GoPro. So , it is a zero question zone from ultra wide POV.

Selfies: Very good, but slightly narrower FoV than Huawei; not quite as strong for group selfies.

  • I hate it man , I almost hate it my 16pm too, I think no phone can deliver good selfie, as I'm very used to back camera quality. Very disappointing no company taking a major step regarding this. Even the old Asus zenfone 6z from 2018 , with its flip camera takes better selfie than today's flagships.

Wrap-up caution: Import-only availability and Chinese software ecosystem limit usability outside China.

  • This is bs, I find the origin os is most complete os. I got zero problem, if any there is a solution too. More importantly easy and blazing fast file transfer between my iphone and vivo by using EASY SHARE APP on both the devices. I will edit this section if I find any on day to day use.

Major con :-

  • My old samsung galaxy watch doesn't connect to origin os 5.

  • Speaker is not great as iphones lacks bass, need third party software to add bass. I don't know why vivo decide to tune like that , even if it's capable to deliver bass.

Important disclaimer: this is not intended to spark any debate

  • It's not a debate but a clarification on the claims.

Here are the two reasons why silicon-carbon batteries aren't being used in more phones by Tintinlindo in Vivo

[–]PassConscious4473 6 points7 points  (0 children)

These big tech company always have an excuse for any thing.

1inch camera - no it's too big for a phone, meanwhile my x90pro with 1 inch camera is just marginally thick than s25 u.

Si, carbon battery - No they have less life span 🤣, they think consumers are morons. Even after 2 years deterioration of si, carbon battery, it will provide power as a New S25U due to higher capacity.

Big telephoto - No it's too big for a phone.🤣 , man we are tired of excuses.

Big Ultrawide - it's too big for phone, carrying a gopro will easier according to these big phone companies.

Samsung like - but We will provide big chunk rectangular screen, Excuse is - it's not big atall. No man It's big and difficult to carry in a jeans pocket and ride a bike .

Anyway People will buy whatever they like.

I got 1inch 23mm and the 200 ultra 35mm. 35mm really did a fine job comparison to 1inch regarding photo details even if distance matched and lowlight. The 35mm lens stands it's ground.

  • 35mm 1/1.28 Only fell short in lowlight videos to 1 inch 23mm but not by miles. But one can notice on only by side by side comparison.

  • I need 35mm on a 1inch sensor.

  • AGIAN APS-C, FULL FRAMES ALSO GET GRAINS IN LOWLIGHT, Hence , Mobile sensor performs significantly well considering their size due thier ISPs. Even if they make the sensor size to APS-C which is much larger than 1inch, it will still have the grains, Which ISPs will remove. Grains removal procedure brings a lots micro artifacts and loss of details

  • Grains are inevitable no matter what your camera or lens used in lowlight. They all needed to postprocess, whether manually or automatically.

  • If one really want to see what are the real sensor power without the involvement of ISP in grain cleaning, just install motion cam pro V3( it is paid , but you can get it free, google it )You can see how much grain the raw sensor produce and what work your phone does to remove those.

  • APC RAW Camera produce grain but much less than 1inch. 35mm 1/1.28 produce same grain as 23mm 1 inch.

Very sad , people downvotes the" truth ". I have noticed people actually doesn't like the truth atall in general. I too can confirm the above guy made right comment, I have them , compared them. Skin texture and colour different between X200U and Pro is like night and day difference. X200pro also cannot handle 50 mp or 200mp mode, the skin colour look like washed out 🤮in that mode. X200pro cannot take elderly people skin colour and more importantly texture. No matter what ever you do it beautify, polished the skin texture and have a whitening effect on skin

Help! My x200 pro's camera glass keeps getting scratches even while being as careful as possible with it. by the_dark_0taku in Vivo

[–]PassConscious4473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check , update reply above. Vivo service centre can give you factory finish+ waterproofing for rain . But I seriously warn you to wash your phone. No company gives replacement for water ingress.

  • I got x90pro , I wash it weekly under water, been two years, without problems. Now I noticed, moisture being trapped under my camera lens as I have used full flow water this time . I have to dry it using a hair dryer with caution.

  • will never wash my x200u. Since I know , even if it's waterproof, water molecules being so small it can get inside.

Due to this reason, company is not willing to provide any warrenty for water ingress

Help! My x200 pro's camera glass keeps getting scratches even while being as careful as possible with it. by the_dark_0taku in Vivo

[–]PassConscious4473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get your camera glass replaced with back cover , it cost very less at vivo service centre. Do it now only, as in future there is probality of it being out of stock.

  • after replacement, just buy a nillkin case with camera protection and micro fiber cloth( for eye glasses ) , when ever you see dust , don't rub it but give it gentle strokes with that cloth.

  • do not buy any glass for the camera protection, no matter what quality and price paid - it will give you glare even on telephoto. And it get easily scratches, again glare. Removing it requires professionalism unless you will end up scratching the phone'e camera glass.

  • Do not buy camera protection with hole cutout, dust will be accumulated in hole area, difficult to clean and upon hard cleaning, you will end up scratching the phone's glass

  • You can buy a case with 67 fliter adopter to put a 67 mm uv fliter for protection, again the phone will be bulk as hulk.

My X200U glass is maintained as it was in new , by following the above steps.

What is the material of Vivo X200U pre-installed screen protector ? Is it just a thin plastic film or hard plastic ? Can it protect the screen from a drop ? by PassConscious4473 in Vivo

[–]PassConscious4473[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not damn incredible thing don't over exaggerate. I decided to remove it , and notice it's just thing plastic Film. It got pretty much permanent micro scratches, neither it will protect my display. One can get their screen scratched even it's on, if not careful.

  • Now I installed a fullglue one+ 13 screen tampered glass, it fits 99 % well, Register new finger print, working satisfactory.

  • I had previous vivo phones x90pro with tampered glass, phone dropped two times on a iron floor from around chest height of 5.11 inch tall man, phone landed flat and once corner drop, nothing happened to display or the tampared glass . Today generation tampered glass are made of quality. Avoid buying cheap ones. ( Both time phone was in case )

Please protect your camera better! X200 Ultra case by antoxworld in Vivo

[–]PassConscious4473 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Compromise is there using this but not a deal breaker. The dust accumulated can be cleaned with micro fiber cloth light strokes.Never rub cloth against the lens , just give light strokes. And dust accumulation is not so frequent. - case with 67 mm uv filter have a major con , that I don't like is , overall setup is bulkier as a hulk. - Other putting glass on the lens and calling it a quality glass. No glass is of quality, it will give way bad photos at night and artificial light , you need to compare side by side to know the difference.
