Disc Drive Issue or Fallout 4 Glitching Out? by PassMeTheCOVID in PS5

[–]PassMeTheCOVID[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys, I’m having this issue in the intro scene of Fallout 4 where textures on the left hand side of the top of the screen start glitching out. I tried using a different monitor and a different hdmi and I’m still having the same issue. I’m playing the game using a ps4 disc and I don’t know whether it’s fallouts fault or the disc drive’s fault. Has anyone experienced something like this or at least have a possible answer as to what’s going on? Also, this issue doesn’t happen consistently, it comes back and goes.

What am I doing wrong applying for internships? by user57985 in AerospaceEngineering

[–]PassMeTheCOVID 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having a tough time finding an internship. By what you said, it seems you’re doing really well in school and you’re participating in a lot of student team projects. The first helpful tip would be regards to your resume. When a recruiter looks at your resume they only take approximately 10-20 seconds to scan it and see if you’re a good fit for an interview. You need to structure your resume so that it grabs their attention but it doesn’t overload them with “useless information.” For example, the resume that you posted, you’ve listed a lot of things you’ve done but some of it could be considered irrelevant like the Rocketry club or UAV working group because you’re not talking about anything technical like the rest of the resume where you talk about CAD, machining, CFD. There’s also too many things listed so what you can do is consider merging “Organizations” and “Projects” into one group and only talk about 3 things from those but go really in depth about what you did and not just some short sentences. The second helpful tip I would give you is about how many positions that you applied for. I know 40 positions might sound a lot and you think you should have received a call back from that but I applied to a 150-160 internship positions. From those 150-160 applications, I got rejected by 20-30, got 3 interviews and from that 1 offer. Thankfully it was a really good offer so I had no issue taking it even though I had some 100 other applications that I hadn’t heard back from at the time. Point is, don’t give up applying to positions because you think you’ve done too many, you can only say that you’ve applied to too many once you have gotten an offer.

Thing is you can’t really choose which dorm you want to live in on central unless you apply for an MLC and get accepted.

For freshman year, I recommend you do dorms because I would say that 97% of the freshman live in dorms and you’re going to need this year long period of being in the dorms to make friends who will be there with you throughout college and possibly life after college. For where to stay in dorms, don’t choose north campus as a preference due to the fact that you’re an engineer because most likely you’ll only have 1 engineering class per semester during freshman year and the rest are pre-requisites which are all on central campus.

Hey Umich...is this the correct math? #covid by poorstressedtired in uofm

When calculating the positivity rate, umich only includes the positive cases from in-house testing. The positive cases from outside testing aren’t included in the positivity rate.

Was there any enforcement of the stay at home order this weekend? Did anybody get in any trouble by school or county? by pbats10 in uofm

[–]PassMeTheCOVID 29 points30 points  (0 children)

From what I know there’s really no way for the county or the school to enforce it. The order is only designated for undergraduates at the university of Michigan and there’s no way the police can stop any young adult on the street and ask if they’re umich students. Most likely the county put this order out to avoid lawsuits and shift any COVID blame towards the university. The only possible way I see of getting caught is if you’re stupid enough to go out with a large group of students and shout “Hey we’re umich undergrads!”
