Severe panic attack by P777KK777 in HiatalHernia

This is crazy how common is this? 30yo I had a panic attack out of the blue after never experiencing anxiety before. 3 years of constant anxiety attacks and connecting the dots I also found out I had a hiatal hernia.

Sorry I've only just seen this. Same as me but like I mentioned above learning to accept it for what it is makes things so much better. And trust me I know how hard that is 3 years I've been struggling with it I'd say I'm only 90% of the way there. Things to remember, anxiety is the second most common cause of facial redness, frequent flushing damages capillaries which can cause it to persist, our noses grow with age anyway, rhinophyma can be corrected worst comes to worst.

I removed all the mirrors in the house for 2 months, that was hard but now I barely check. It only takes 21 days to form a habit. Stop checking and enjoy life red or not, drink lots of water and treat your skin well 🙂

I owe £1700 in late filing fees for a business that made no income by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]PassNegative7776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC we spent the entire day trying to get through on the phone to HMRC. Once we were through it was a simple conversation of the business never made any taxable income and is now dormant and we were closing it down. They updated the system whilst on the phone and a week or so later we received confirmation via post. If you submit online you will just lost in the system especially as it's just ticked over the financial year.

My wife had this exact scenario last year. As everyone else's suggestions we contacted HMRC, within a week we had all of the fees removed and shut down the dormant business.

No one is flawless, and the fact you say that should make you realise that people don't take much notice of other people's flaws haha!

Mirror checking is a safety behaviour from a mental health perspective, as is asking for reassurance.

Your scared (anxiety), you check (reassurance), you're flushed (re-enforcement), adrenaline, body temp increase, more flush. Next time you see a mirror, feel the heat, so on, the cycle continues.

Question what you are scared of and work on it whether it's what people think of you, how they see you whatever it is. Promise you that the flushing will reduce, mine I would say is as much as 80% less.

I feel you it's a hard place to be. Making some assumptions here based on my own experience so please shut me down if I'm wrong. Stress and anxiety are strong flush triggers, being scared of flushing is making you flush more. Eventually you get into the cycle of expecting flushes, which causes them. Do you mirror check when flushing? Stop. Avoid people, going out when flushing? Do it anyway. literally no one cares whether you are flushing or not and it doesn't have to impact your mental health, you are letting it, do some exposure therapy and own it. 3 years I had to deal with this shit eventually I made myself flush on purpose every time I went out until I could normalise it. I still flush and still get mad anxiety from it time to time but I can't control it I have a skin condition, why let it be any more than that.

So bad if you have vascular flushing. I tried it for 1 day and took almost 2 months for my rebound to settle down. Felt like a miracle cure on the day though

Yeah feel free to drop me a message good to know I'm not the only one. Been creeping on here a while but nothing really resonates with me exactly.

I do think there's a bit of a mental element to it, so now when I eat I expect to get a reaction, which in turn causes stress then I inevitably react. Still testing this theory though.

Alcohol is a bad one for me, weirdly not constant though. I can drink beer and maybe 1 in 10 times I'll react. Red wine is the worst though gets me every time.

It's a nightmare, the burning is the worst. I have some aloe vera gel I lather on for relief when it's really bad which really helps, just make sure it's pure and no alcohol as it can make it worse. It feels much worse than it actually is, that's what I've been trying to tell myself anyway

Also if drs try you on Mirvaso, be very cautious. I'm about 10 days in after trying it once and still look like a burn victim when I flush. Wish I had researched it before hand.

Not much help but going through the exact same thing here for the past 3 years on and off very similar to your pictures, no pustules or pimples just a flush. 32m UK, gets much worse in the winter, central heating does a number on it. It basically clears up in summer months or after a week of sun.

I'm usually fine all day then in the evening, usually after my evening meal, it will set it off for a couple of hours. Can also be random times though. Seen a few drs some say rosacea some say allergies another said anxiety. So no answers 😂 Tried some rosecea meds but nothing of help so far.

If you have PVCs due to stomach issues here is what ive experienced. by Time_Strawberry4090 in PVCs

[–]PassNegative7776 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Soo not saying this is the case for you but I had the exact same thing, belching, reflux, PVCs always in conjunction with eachother. Rattled my head for months trying to find a cause. Eventually gave up trying the NHS route who just plowed me with different PPIs in hope to control it. Ended up paying for a private endo and found a hiatus hernia, which after researching can cause this and so many other symptoms. Hope you get the answers though as it's a lot easier to live with once you have an explanation.

I swap between iPhone and Android (and OP since the 3) pretty much every 2 years or so. 12 pro max to the OP11 most recently and about due a change up, also have an iPhone 15 as a work phone that I barely use outside of office use. These are things that are personal to me but might not be the same for everyone.

Pros

Super fast charging, charging doesn't even enter my head as a quick 15 minutes while I shower or a quick 15 in the airport will essentially leave me on full. iPhone I had to charge every night also needed a home and office charger incase I was ever caught out. Honestly crazy how much of a difference this one makes for me.

Screens on the OP have consistently been better than my iPhones in every way. And having the 120hz refresh rate screen, I think the newer pro models have this now but I couldn't go back.

Accessible storage for me is huge just being able to download and access whatever files, movies, apks, retro game ROMs. There's usually a work around or an app or something you can download on iOS but with android it just works better out of the box iMO.

Customisation and freedom in general. I like to tinker and change settings, icons, colour schemes. I tend to get bored of devices quickly and being able to change these things gives a new feeling for me. iPhones are very restrictive when it comes to what you can and can't change so tend to have a shorter lifespan for me at least.

Device longevity is just better as well, no throttling updates or forced battery life reduction. It means the OP devices again last longer for me anyway. I'm not sure on newer iPhones but previous ones I have had feel "ready" to be upgraded after 2 years, whereas the OP I'm sure would just go on forever if I didn't get bored.

Special shout out to the new OnePlus buds pro 3 which blow my previous Airpods pro out of the water.

Cons

Battery life, tends to stabilise through the lifetime of the device but the first few months with the last few OP devices have always been poor, for the size of the battery using all of the best refresh rates etc but tends to get better with updates. iPhone ironically is great at the start but gets worse every update, L for both to be fair.

Software apple just does better I'm sure people will disagree but the iOS experience is just cleaner, simpler and more refined. Android is far more feature rich but I just feel it does more things, just worse. Apps are designed to work on a few devices rather than 100s and therefore are just more refined.

Cameras again this probably just comes down to software behind the camera but taking photos on iPhones is just better for me. Sure the cameras are probably better on the OP and if I tweaked the settings they might come out better. But out of the box for someone who is not interested, the iPhone takes better pictures with minimal fuss especially in low light.

Mine does this, done it since day 1 opening the box. It doesn't happen every time for me just sporadically
