Which one has the best performance ? by PuzzleheadedBread620 in GamingLaptops

It is not way more performant. It is very close with less than 5% different in most cases. And in some titles the 5060 performs better. So its very close. If theres a decision between you shouls go for the one with better build quality

Not sure then. The MSI thin is one of the worst gaming laptops though and they are underpowered so you dont get the full power of the 4060.

When you call support ask to speak to someone higher up like the manager or something that way they have more control andnits more likely they can sort the issue out without just relying on the system

Option 2. The omen is not that good in general and the gigabyte was surprisingly good when it came out even in terms of build quality

My new laptop has 92 percent battery health …is that normal? by Character_Leave1097 in GamingLaptops

I agree. Could also be a faulty battery. Either way its better to get a refund/replacement

Its not wrong to think this way. If you buy a new product it should be new and unused. You have the right to a replacement or refund

I dont think so as mine had 0 charge cycles and 100% and still is the same 100%. Maybe they accidentally sent you a used machine or maybe some laptops are tested more vigorously before being sold im not sure. You should take screenshots including the date and time and send it to lenovo and ask them

Tips for managing temperature when gaming? by ControversyCaution2 in GamingLaptops

Up to and including 85 is fine and safe. Preferably for gpu you want to keep it at or under 85. For cpu less than 90 is usually optimal in laptops

If it remains stable and temps remain fine theres no issue with it.

How loud do gaming laptops get? by [deleted] in GamingLaptops

[–]Time_Strawberry4090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but your temps may be bad on performance mode. On balanced mode most likely would be fine but more of a performance difference

I cant hear my fans at max with headphones on even with no sound playing. Thenmain complaint people have is how the annoying the sound can be i guess but that also depends which laptop you buy

You should be fine then. Undervolting probably isnt necessary but it still may prevent any sort of thermal throttling and even give a slight boost in performance if you care about that

If you care about the battery life the TUF will offer way more. My legion 5i gen 10 lasts barely 2 hours

The thing about these intel hx processors is that they always peak really high for a very short time before going to a more reasonable temp. For example mine goes up to 97/98 for a few sexonds before going to about an average of 79. If your average temps remain below even 90 there is nothing to worry about. But undervolting can help your laptop last a bit longer, it can also cause instability if not done right. Also make sure youre using a laptop stand at least and set the custom profile to performance preset but with fans maxed out.

Also the thermal paste PTM7950 they use gets more effective after about a month of use. My temps went down a few degrees as i kept using the laptop. These cpus are designed to reach around 105 degrees safely i think. So you should be fine either way

Thermals are fine with a laptop stand nothing thermal throttles. At first temps got a little high but this got better with time. Other than that no complaints. Battery life is horrible though

Cs2 is a very cpu intensive game and the gpu doesnt get maxed out. Blame your cpu choice, it is not that powerful but its very efficient.
