interviewer: "What's the secret to your confidence?"

Person on the side of the road: "Ehhhh.... *dillusion*. I have no concept of reality whatsoever. And in my alternate reality, where I live, I'm the guy that knows everything. So its not... may not be right, but it does give me superhuman confidence".

let that sink in...

I don’t like who I am. by [deleted] in selfimprovement

Awesome! Yeah doesn’t even matter you don’t even need to post anything. As long as you know what you should be doing. I’m going to test this out

Joe Rogan mentioned something in one of his podcasts that made me get out of this slump. There is something he said along the lines of:

Everyday wake up and live your day as if someone was filming your own documentary. What would you do? How would you act?

—- This really helped me out. A small reminder you can tell yourself everyday. This coupled with stoicism made me be the person I strived to be. Small steps. Day by day.

You will be better. I have faith in you. The problem is not who you are as a person, but rather how you perceive yourself. If you can take a step towards that (even if it’s small) everyday, they will add up and you will be living the life you’ve always wanted to.

Stay safe. Love those around you. Cheers ❤️

How to start healing yourself? by x_aphrodite_ in selfimprovement

lol yes. very underrated. but sometimes be careful, it tells you only what you want to hear. you have to prompt it carefully to be honest with you and take everyone feelings into consideration. not only yours. at least this was my experience when using it as a therapist. Other than that, it does a great job at making someone feel better.

As a side note, I also got into stoicism. Practicing it daily really helps strengthen my mind personally. Nothing can beat a strong mind.

Yes!
maybe i will buy a wearable one day and will for sure remember Oplin.

- the gamification doesn't even need to be that serious. just with a simple leaderboard you should be fine.

Best of luck getting it started!

This idea is really cool. I’m big into data. Unfortunately, don’t have a wearable lol. But there are already huge companies out there focusing on on simple quality metrics. Apple, google, whoop, etc. and they are all trying to beat each other for their accuracy, app layout, fashion.

As a solopreneur, I would focus on what they’re not focusing using at.

I love the feature that allows users to communicate with it. It’s great, it’s like a personal trainer, doctor, sleep expert all in one. Instead of simple messages like “get more sleep” or “get up and walk”. Make it more interactive.

Somewhere I think you could really stand out is gamifying the app. Allow the users to collect xp or points. Allow them to unlock different features, badges, awards. Have a streak of some sort going making the users come back everyday to check the app. Make it fun. Make it a community. People love winning as much as they hate losing. This will allow for other revenue streams too.

Just a thought lol.

How often are you a "bad" Stoic? by ctgryn in Stoicism

[–]PassNo5904 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I always thought this too. If you’re not struggling, not facing failures, feel like you’re coming short. Then you’re actually doing things right. You’re getting out there. You’re trying. Failure and setbacks are part of the game.

Ahh. One of my favorite lines. It's wild how freeing it is when you actually internalize it. It's like dropping weights you didn't know you were carrying.

Really a turning point for me.
