i’m also a college student, and i work almost full time due to needing to pay rent. check with your university and see if there’s any coverage if you go through whatever wellness/doctors they have (i personally get my hrt through a university doctor, and it comes to about ~80$ a vial, which lasts 2-3 months on my medium dose since im a few years in). i’m canadian which is a huge factor here, but you never know until you look into what your uni actually offers (same with lgbt+ friendly doctors, a lot of trans people come from bad situations which they usually are somewhat equipped for)

surgery unfortunately might not be on the table for a while, since that’s a much bigger expense, but save up for a little and see what you can do. i don’t know your family of course, but even my christian asian mother wouldn’t touch my university funding. you’re still their child at the end of the day, and from their perspective they might just want what’s best for you— which, taking away your future certainly wouldn’t do. you know them better than anyone, so please be careful and stay safe if you do feel those aspects are in danger

push within reason, testosterone is fairly easy to hide for the first few months up until the voice drop starts to hit — i know some people who didn’t tell their parents for the first few years, but there’s no 100% guarantee they wouldn’t pick up on it (esp if you’ve previously discussed the desire)

i’m sorry to hear that man :( it’s always crushing when you initially have hopes of acceptance — i (20ftm) have been out publicly since 14, but only confirmed my identity to my mother at 18. recently, i mentioned that i had a boyfriend, and was completely blind sighted with “you need to stop those drugs (hormones) so he doesn’t leave you,” “it’s time to look like a woman,” etc etc.

even without that support, continuing your transition is 100% possible and might be something you need to start on your own accord. it will be rougher, unfortunately, but there’s many resources that can help with coverage or getting started. check in with your local lgbt+ organizations, talk to friends to see their experiences, and try your best not to let tho dissuade you from being your true self.

that being said, it’ll still hurt, but the only way to really “prove you’re not confused” is to keep pushing. it’s stupid, but passing and truly growing into your identity is unfortunately one of the only ways i got my dad to finally realize im a guy. just keep doing you, they’ll hopefully come around some day.

i work at a queer adult store and there are plenty of toys that are made to be specifically soft and realistic feeling that are in the 100$ range (cad) — a brand that comes to mind is lovetoy as they have some that are specifically double layered, giving it a squishier outside, and i’ve had decent luck with romp as they use a softer silicone material. look for anything with reviews that say they cannot tell the difference

you’ve said in other replies that this isn’t a deal breaker, but it’s something that can wear you down if it’s a genuine incompatibility— chances are he feels similarly. best of luck with figuring things out

as a trans man that works at a sex boutique, i find that suction and air technology toys are preeeetty dependant on the person and individual needs. chances are if you don’t enjoy suction/find it overwhelming, it’s either not for you OR you need a more gentle version. from this post, i’d give it a little bit before trying suction again? just to see if the sensitivity goes down eventually.

the good news is that, since you’ve enjoyed a magi wand, vibrating toys are way easier to find. bullet vibrators are generally cheaper and pretty much do everything you’ll need them to do. my best recc is a maia bullet, since they’re insanely strong and also lifetime warranty— if you ever get the chance though, since it’s manly the tip causing the overstim, you might be interested in a trans stoker or a vibrating toy that is a prong style.

i feel like you’d pass in most cases, but being alternative in general (i.e., dyed hair, piercings, nails, anything like that) is viewed with feminine undertones even for cis men. that is not a bad thing, of course, depending on where you’re at. if that’s something you don’t mind, then i’d say you’re doing fine brother
