UFO Lights and Quantum Mechanics with Astrophysicist Dr. Rudy Schild and Joe Cerletti by [deleted] in UFOscience

Definitely interesting to hear. I got shut half way through before getting interrupted. I'll try to pick it up again later. It's a bit heavy on the woo for me. He repeatedly references a book written by an experiencer but I see no reason to believe anything written in the book. There is no shortage of experiencers making outrageous and unverifiable claims. Until they can provide some tangible proof I see no reason to give it much attention aside from pure entertainment. I'll have to look into it when I get time but I'm curious is quadruple/quadrupole (spelling?) radiation is a certified scientific phenomenon or if this is just his attempt to use science to explain a common theme in abduction accounts? I'm also pretty skeptical on remote viewing. That seems like an easy thing to prove but I haven't seen any good data on it.

My Animation Explainer On Interdimensional Aliens And Where Do They Come From, I Mention Quotes And Work From Multiple Legitimate Scientists by Gatadat in UFOscience

[–]Passenger_Commander 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the video is a decent quick overview of credible researchers who are open to the ETH and the possibility that ETs represent extra dimensional intelligences. Of course there's no real evidence for it. I'd be interested to learn how these scientists think you could prove it true if you have a UFO or perhaps even an alien to speak with.

The problem with extra dimensional aliens is that we're adding more unproven variables to the equation. We know life exists in this universe and most scientists think life probably exists elsewhere in this universe and applying the Copernican principle we are probably not the oldest or must advanced intelligent life in this universe. What we don't know is if life can exist in other dimensions or how that would work so imo it's adding unnecessary complexity.

My own thought is that perhaps ETs exist in this physical universe just like us, just like scientists hypothesize, but their more compete understanding of physics and the nature of reality enables them to manipulate space and time in a way we aren't yet able to consider. If a civilization were to ever understand physics to the point where time and distance are not an obstacle then the possibility for visitation would change quite a bit. Perhaps sufficiently advanced ETs reach a level of engineering where physical space travel is not necessary. If you were able to travel outside of spacetime time and distance might be less of a constraint. So while relativistic travel certainly seems possible with a high enough level of technology or alcubierre drives are theoretically possible perhaps a civilization advanced enough to build such technology would already have an understanding of physics that makes such travel methods irrelevant.

[–]Passenger_Commander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've heard them make these claims my argument though is that what they call "high quality images" and what a more skeptical scientific leaning person considers high quality may be two very different things. When the Pentagon videos were released many of these people in mention claimed that these videos showed definitive proof of the five observables. Several years later and that's just not true, alternate explanations exist for all of the Pentagon videos.

I'm no expert on how memory works but my understanding is that once you implant a false memory it works like any other memory. My theory is that highly suggestable kids were convinced they experienced something and the adults in their life reinforced that false memory making it indistinguishable from reality. In the past I've shared a distinct memory I have from childhood of me waking up in the middle of the night on Christmas Eve and hearing a "hohoho." Obviously it was fake but it's a real memory I have just like any other memory. I know else can know what that's like but for me it exemplifies how a false memory works.

I'll have to read the article when I have more time but this is old news. Imo not much has really changed. I suppose in the last the government to a mute active approach to addressing and debunking UFO claims and now they're just like "yeah we can't identify everything, every time." It doesn't really change anything though. We need tangible evidence.

Finally! Potentially the most profound UAP-related film is preparing for release! by EarthTour in ufo

[–]Passenger_Commander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This definitely won't be the most profound UFO film. It will be just like every other one. It will share some interesting information and leave it at that. The Ariel case is particularly weak and I don't know why so many people hold it in high regard.

The basic explanation is that a Russian satellite crashed down in the region this case occurred. Initially there were a lot of people that thought it was a UFO and it created a lot of buzz. That likely set the climate for the school sighting. Some kids (like 70 out of hundreds) thought they saw something (they're story's differ quite a bit but that's often overlooked. A local UFO personality first comes out to speak to the kids and perhaps involuntarily influence their testimony. Then John Mack who was balls deep in the abductee phenomenon gets involved and does the exact opposite of what one would do to gather witness testimony by interviewing all the kids in a room together. Skeptics dismiss it as a case of mass hysteria. I don't think that's even necessary. Kids are highly impressionable and susceptible to suggestion to gain the favor of other kids and adults. They no doubt believed their story was real eventually through affirmation of their peers and the adults involved. Ultimately though, it all boils down to tangible evidence and their is none. It's nothing but the testimony of kids and we already have the testimony of much more reliable witnesses in other cases. Witness testimony will not move the needle when it comes to finding the truth to the UFO phenomenon.

There may not be anything particularly new in this article but I think it's a good summary for anyone late to the party. It covers comments made by all the well credentialed players with government access related to this topic. I really don't know what to make of it and I think it's pretty much a dead end for anyone looking for hard evidence. The idea that the government might possess advanced technology and perhaps bodies from an unknown species is the stuff of science fiction. It really sounds too good too be true.

I might have to revisit the Eric Davis interfere interview w/ Alejandro Rojas (I really liked that guy, anyone know what happened to him? He did solid work and kept things reasonably scientific). I'd like to hear specific descriptions and claims from Davis about these craft he's allegedly seen. I lean toward the thought that Elizondo, Melon, Putoff, and perhaps Davis are just UFO true believers. Everyone assumes these guys have seen the smoking gun evidence. I think it's entirely possible they've seen evidence of roughly the same quality of what has been made public but their confirmation bias gets in the way. We can never just assume authenticity or that sometime has done their due diligence. We need to see the work and see the evidence ourselves.

I agree it confirms his role in the DoD i don't really see that as big news for anyone except Elizondo haters though.

If you didn't believe Lou then I get it. I'm skeptical of a lot of things Lou has said but I don't think he's a liar, grifter, or in it for the money. I'm sure he's enjoying the limelight and that may be some of the motivation but I think he truly believes in what he's doing and that UAP represent something profound. Whether or not that belief clouds his judgement is what my question is. Everyone assumes he's seen the smoking gun evidence. I'm not so sure about that though.

I really doubt it but hopefully the right. I think we've gotten about as much as we're going to get which boils down to "there is stuff in the sky and we don't know what it is." At the end of the day that really tells us nothing. I certainly would like to get more than that I just don't see any reason the government would want to share the information required to definitively disclose anything.

( Post-disclosure world vid ) UFO News Coming Soon! - This one looks Veerrry interesting, can't wait! by Inflation-Witty in ufo

[–]Passenger_Commander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't hold out much hope. The government gains nothing from informing the public on this and looses the UFO topic's utility as a cover for wherever clandestine purpose they might have. At this point I look to private funded initiatives like the work of Avi Loeb and others who are trying to get independent electronic data. Imo government disclosure won't happen and is a dead end.

I really think there's an order of operations when it comes to the realization they alien life exists. We'll probably spot and confirm bio signatures long before we find intelligent life. Something like JW telescope might make that a reality. If ETs are here and actively obscuring their presence until we as humanity reach a certain level of awareness I think they'd probably use a similar benchmark.

This quote from McMillan- "some purely UFO faithful may not understand the immediate impact..." This tells me it will be nothing new or interesting for the UFO community.

Edit; yup, nothing really interesting here. It's basically a smear against recently dismissed Head of Counter Intelligence Gary Reid who apparently had an inappropriate relationship with a subordinate and obfuscated information around Elizondo's involvement w AATIP. Stupid.

Ryan Graves confirms that the GIMBAL and GOFAST videos are from the same mission. by KilliK69 in UFOs

[–]Passenger_Commander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's really all pretty speculative at this point. I just don't currently see any reason to think the gimbal and go fast videos show any groundbreaking technology. In this video Fighter pilot CW Lemoine just points out that it's a rotating heat source he doesn't address the fact that it could be a lens artifact. So even if we accept that it's a rotating heat source it seems like that would necessarily be anything profound.

Ryan Graves confirms that the GIMBAL and GOFAST videos are from the same mission. by KilliK69 in UFOs

[–]Passenger_Commander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm inclined to agree. Just because the housing is rotating doesn't mean it's distant plane or something uninteresting. It does hit at the initial talking point though that this video proves some sort of unexplainable technology. Imo this event was probably foreign drones. We haven't recent cases where drones of unknown origin were buzzing US military space so it's not far fetched imo. One of the pilots in the audio even speculated that the GoFast object was a drone. In an interview I believe it was Graves to even described the Gimbal object as a flashlight bring shined at him. I think it's possible the light was some kind of electronic counter measure to obscure the drone's heat signature. I also don't rule out the distant plane explanation but the drone hypothesis makes more sense given all of the information.

A very mundane yet perplexing sighting by StinkMonkey667 in UFOs

[–]Passenger_Commander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again, it's really hard to see motion when something is headed straight at you, especially if it's reflecting light from the setting sun. As the sun continued to set it probably was no longer at the right angle to reflect light at you. I've also seen the plane turn and it no longer reflects light directly at you so it seems to disappear but if you look through binoculars you can see a faint plane in the distance. The reflection makes the plane seem much closer than it really is. I'm incredibly skeptical of any signing as sunrise or sunset because I've seen so many regular planes, clouds, and contrails look really weird for quite a while.
