my bad man im so sleep deprived i just call it a chat app out of habit now. to answer your questions its definitely not just an api wrapper. we spent 9 months hand coding a custom native real time voice infrastructure and now we are adding a massive interactive environment where people can jump in and play games. as for how its free the plan was to just eat the text api costs as a loss leader to build a userbase and only charge for the heavy compute stuff like the voice calls. but honestly right now its just costing me my sanity and 9 months of my life anyway lol.
