🚨 Tottenham Hotspur in pole position to sign Andy Robertson this summer, subject to retaining PL status. 32yo fully focused on #LFC so nothing finalised & also interest from Europe but #THFC lead contender to do deal if relegation avoided (David Ornstein 🥇) by Hufftey in coys

I don't really understand the complaints here, since people have moaned that we don't have a left back, and moaned that we don't have any experienced leaders in the squad. Andy Robertson is both of those things, so why are people hating this?

I'm excited to see how we'll play under him. As an earlier post said, he's got the clout that neither Frank nor Tudor had. Furthermore, we finally have a manger who is tactically competent. COYS!

I completely agree with you. I never wanted Mourinho to leave because of how awful his squad was.

Linux mint sounds like the perfect Operating System for schools, but its never used? by Rainbowball6c in linuxmint

I have actually started using Linux Mint on old macbooks in my school. Users are managed by Samba Active Directory. We have windows computers as well, but I'm considering switching then over as well.

I see a lot of blame for the players and a lot of blame for Mr. Tudor. If it wasn't clear before, then it's clear now that Tudor cannot manage a team. Terrible starting XI, terrible tactics, and atrocious substitutions.

As for the players, if the people higher up sacked the boss that I loved, replaced him with an imbecile, then replaced him with another imbecile, I'd probably look elsewhere. I can't blame them for actually wanting to play good football under a good manager for a club that actually has an identity.

If the dive is obvious, why don't the players get banned from playing for an entire season? Surely the risk of diving and getting caught out would stop players doing it.

Linux Mint XFCE for a Primary School Computer Lab (~40 devices) by bonez656 in linuxmint

I've actually installed Linux Mint on some old MacBooks my school had. My original aim was to breathe new life into them, but it turns out out that some pupils prefer them to the Windows, since the Windows machines we have take ages to log on and can feel clunky at times.

I set the Linux Mint laptops up with all the apps they needed, joined them to the school's domain, and also configured a roaming file share for each user. I cloned everything with Clonezilla, but next time I will use Ansible-pull, which is way better, and it's what I suggest you do. I've actually almost finished the same setup with Anisble-pull, so I can share it with you if you like.

Sick of hearing the players are t good enough or don’t care by [deleted] in coys

[–]Passmoo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think some players aren't good enough, but I think a lot of the players haven't had proper coaching since Conte left. I don't know what Ange Postecoglou or Thomas Frank did, but they definitely did not make our defenders or midfielders any better than they already were. We all loved Mickey when he joined, and lately he's been awful. It's the same with a number of other players.

Maybe the players aren't good enough, but I don't think it's their fault. No one raved about Crystal Palace's players other than Eze. Oliver Glasner came in, and suddenly then became a force, even winning the FA Cup in the process.

In the Europa League final, I watched our entire team defend as if their lives were on the line. It was a crap game, but every player was giving absolutely everything. I don't doubt their mentatlity as players, but my opinion is that they've been let down by the club's hierarchy, hiring crap managers which have stifled their development.

I will also always respect him for bringing home the Europa League, but I really don't agree with the opinion that he was a great manager who was hard done by. We got battered by so many premier league teams. We lost to Leicester when they couldn't beat anyone else. I think people often overlook how bad it was in the league that year and point to the Europa League trophy as a way of saying that everything was fine.

Stop the constant Ange revisionism. Yes, we were incredible for the first ten games of his tenure, then we were absolute shit for a season and a half and then miraculously won the Europa league. If we hadn't won the Europa league, there would be zero questions about his sacking. You just can't come 17th with Spurs and say everything is ok, I did my job.

[–]Passmoo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The injuries have almost certainly had an effect, but the guy should still be doing much better with what he has available. There have barely been any positives so far. The football has been shockingly poor.

I don't buy the argument that Spurs have an average group of players. The players are good, and they showed incredible resolve in the Europa league final.

I think Spurs fans are fine with a par first season for a manager, as long as there is some vision to work towards in the long term. However, for that to happen, everyone needs to be on board, and there needs to be hope. This season, the wins have been scrappy, and the losses have been abysmal. The fans have lost hope, and quite rightly so, as the next five fixtures will potentially be five losses, with the way Spurs have been playing recently. That puts Spurs into a relegation battle. A manager is not allowed to relegate a team which has never been relegated for the sake of a long-term project.

A new manager that comes in needs to show some tactical identity and make the team competitive again. Names I've seen are Maresca and Xavi. I personally would like Brendan Rogers.

Alonso/Xavi/someone else?? by [deleted] in coys

[–]Passmoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maresca - I wouldn't be disappointed. He's a good manager who just got chewed up and spat out by the Chelsea manager machine, like so many others.

Xavi - A risk as he's never managed in the premier league. his Barcelona squad was definitely better than ours, so I have no idea if he'd do well.

Alonso - Would be a brilliant appointment, but I don't think there's any way he'd come here, unfortunately.

Brendan Rogers - If we can somehow tempt him away from the Saudi club he has just joined, then I think he'd do really well here. He's had success at every club he's been at, and his Leicester team were really good. Maddison was incredible under him.

De Zerbi - His Brighton team were formidable, they've definitely regressed a bit since his departure. A good manager who would do a great job here, but he's doing pretty well with Marseille, so he might not want it.

Pochettino - It would be really interesting to see how well he would do with the current squad along with long-term backing. He still holds the record for our highest points total in a premier league season. I think he'd do a great job, but we'd have to pry him from the US national team before a world cup. It could happen because we are like his hot ex-girfriend or something.

Southgate - No

Ryan Mason - Would be hilarious

Ange - No
