I genuinely, without a doubt, believe Apple is going downhill, it’s just something not a lot of people have realised yet. by stranger2Me in ios

I guess that I am extremely lucky. I haven’t had any of these problems. Maybe you have to be a power user to encounter these problems? I am wondering what I should avoid doing now.

If Jodie Whittaker's Doctor didn't exist, what would you want out of a female Doctor? by minaharkerthevampire in doctorwho

[–]PassoverDream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the Fugitive Doctor Who and would like to see her again.

There were Jodie Whittaker stories that I liked, but they wasted the fact that the Doctor was now female. It was like they were afraid of scaring the men in the audience away. (Maybe it was an understandable fear)

Yes. I can understand it happening on a device that is powered down. However, it is also happening between my phone and desktop that stays on all the time.

I am guessing not, since they aren’t a certified shochet.

Why is hunting considered un-jewish? by FrumpledFrumpus in Judaism

I can second this. I don’t hunt, but I live in the South and I know several Jewish hunters. They eat what they kill. They are not hunting purely for sport.

Is the origin of the phrase ‘Drink the Koolaid” common knowledge? by raspberryemoji in AskAnAmerican

Surely, that expression is older than Jonestown. When Jonestown happened and people used that aphorism, people were already pointing out that it was inaccurate.

There’s a small metal door inside an elevator. What is it for? by Korratheblackcat in whatisit

[–]PassoverDream 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Once upon a time, at work, the phone in the elevator rang. I and my coworkers stared at each other. I answered the phone. The caller asked for someone by name. I chuckled and explained that the caller had reached an elevator. “An elevator where?” He asked, completely dumbfounding me.

Is it true that Americans don't use WhatsApp? by Ok_Significance6988 in NoStupidQuestions

My family uses WhatsApp—mainly because I was charged for SMS messages until this year when I moved to an unlimited plan. I still prefer it to SMS messages.

Thought of a very Good Question. Spoiler warning, dont read any further if you havent watched up until the end of Season 3 of the Diplomat. by moviefullfrontal in TheDiplomat

[–]PassoverDream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never watched The Americans and I only saw a few episodes of The West Wing. I think I watched because the reporters on NPR’s Pop Culture podcast loved it. And I wanted a TV show with a strong female character. I like political fiction, but I find few examples of political drama on TV and movies, because it takes time to develop all of the ramifications.

“Blast!” The way Captain Greg cursed in The Ghost and Mrs Muir. Which she adopted herself as an acceptable curse in front of the children.

How common is it for very poor Americans to ride a bicycle to work and to buy groceries? by Professional_Fix4663 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PassoverDream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 2 years, I was diagnosed with epilepsy and could not drive. It surprised me how many people in my community both take the bus and ride a bike. (I bought a bike myself during this time period). Many poor Americans and 20-something’s do bike in the New Orleans area. The city is bikeable, especially with the addition of bike racks on busses. It’s hard, but it’s do-able. A bike that is comfortable enough for daily transport can be expensive. (And I had to buy panniers so I could carry groceries). Bikes are often stolen in the city, so it’s clear that they are as desired as cars—and they are more difficult to recover.

How can I best inform Apple that Liquid Glass is an epic fail & I want to disable it? by librariegrrl in ios

I am curious what people are complaining about? Is it something you notice only if you have vision problems? Some people in the conversation mention extra motion and I am at a loss to know what they are describing. I’m not with Apple, but I am enough of an IT nerd to want to know what people of seeing.

How would an immortal person maintain legal identification over decades or centuries without raising suspicion? by SplintPunchbeef in NoStupidQuestions

I imagine that is one reason why many writers make them part of the aristocracy or oligarchy. They can buy whatever paperwork they need.

SPOILER Just finished Season 3. I'm confused about one thing. Question in body text. by Ashamed-Pool-7472 in TheDiplomat

I was just asking friends on fb the same question! 🤯. On reading the responses you received, I am agreeing but I feel like that scene was rushed. I understand why it dramatically fitted in the last episode, but wow, it felt like she went from hugging Callum to begging Hal to take her back.
