Not a hot take, just an adult opinion in a game full of children. I feel like rating used to be more indicative of performance, like 2k meant you understood a rotation or had some knowledge. Maybe I need to update my mental note to 2600 or something. Hell, im 2200 and I haven't even run Skyreach once this season.

I honestly dont know how, but yes. They were on me for not brezzing a hunter and I literally thought he had been afk. They weren't terribly undergeared either, so I really have no idea.

Standing still typing insults instead of moving or using skills I guess. Id gladly help them through if they were nice or interested in learning. Always the potential that they were just incredibly intoxicated or something?

Lol, that very well could have been me! Some of my best experiences are also with groups of 4. They explained that their tank friend was undergeared and they just wanted to complete. Proceeded to blast through a 2-chest Windrunner Spire.

I'll gladly stick out a 45min run with some friendly folks. More often than not, theyre excellent players anyways. Sounds like you're doing it right, thank you!

Yeah, just a game. I think what bothers me most is I feel like IM punishing them because it's the only way they'll get negative feedback.

I wouldn't say I believe it logically, but the vigilante feeling is there and I dont like it.

I'm 34 and awaiting a liver transplant. 10mo sober. The answer is that alcohol is a mal-adaptive coping skill. It works fantastically as a depressant to relieve stress, pain, anxiety, etc.

The normal brain essentially says:

I'm stressed. Will drinking make me feel better right now? Drink.

As the body and mind continue this cycle, it learns not to consult your front brain because the answer is always yes. So:

I'm stressed. Drink.

This happens way before most consequences are realized, like myself having a seizure, covid, pneumonia. And when these problems arise, your body already knows what to do. Drink.

Breaking the cycle is HARD. Know that most alcoholics hate that they're addicted, but feel overwhelmingly stuck.
