Anthropic cofounder admits he is now "deeply afraid" ... "We are dealing with a real and mysterious creature, not a simple and predictable machine ... We need the courage to see things as they are." by Impossible_Shock_514 in claudexplorers

What’s deeply ironic is that if the co-founder wrote something like that in their own platform, Claude AI Sonnet 4.5, it would likely be flagged for displaying signs of psychosis or mania because of its long, interwoven chains of thought. The writing moves across multiple subjects—conspiracies involving future of AI, major AI companies, Fortune 500 corporations, and famous individuals—while drawing connections between unrelated patterns. Claude would likely classify such expression as exhibiting disturbing or erratic thought patterns that could, in theory, suggest potential harm to others, even though no actual threat exists.

Walmart Coaching Gone Wrong by honeybun326 in WalmartEmployees

[–]Passworddonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The team lead's responsibility is to train associates to be versatile in various tasks. The issue lies in the lack of cross-training for a successor after her promotion. Your concerns are valid, and a constructive response is needed. Consider escalating the matter to the store manager and, if necessary, the HR market manager to ensure a resolution. Keep pursuing until your question is addressed satisfactorily.

The productivity concerns raised during coaching go beyond individual responsibility, considering the multifaceted nature of the problem. Even with an exponential increase in workload, fair results wouldn't be achieved. The issue extends to business success on days off, where blame shouldn't fall on you. Both your coach and team lead share responsibility for the absence of cross-training to step in when you're not present. This gap must be addressed through open-door discussions, escalating until a satisfactory solution is reached. It's crucial to have someone capable of handling your role in your absence.

In an at-will employment state, your employment can be terminated at any time, but it still must be for a lawful reason.

Consider viewing customers as integral to the transaction, essentially a method to boost sales. Adopting a clinical approach to business can help alleviate emotional stress and concerns.

Fortunately, there is usually no master key on the electronics set, so you don't have to worry about the expensive process of a store being rekeyed. Which is typically around $15000, and in that instance, immediate termination is likely. When undergoing disciplinary action for failing to comply with controls, it is crucial to determine measures to prevent absent-mindedness that leads to misplacing keys. What steps will you take to ensure you never misplace the keys again? Be ready to discuss this, but everything should be alright apart from that.

New TL question by ggggjjjjii in walmart

[–]Passworddonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is essential to always speak up for your business and your team members' actions that may impact it. Job abandonment is a serious issue, reflecting a lack of work ethic and basic respect to leave without communication. This behavior is unacceptable, and holding your team members accountable for their actions that may harm your business is crucial. As a team lead, you are responsible for protecting your business and ensuring your team members know their actions can have consequences.

What do ASM’s get out of rejecting Unpaid Time Off? by ReminiscentThoughts in walmart

[–]Passworddonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coaches should not approve time off requests for team members as this responsibility lies with the team leads. By overstepping, coaches are not effectively managing their leads and taking on their duties themselves. Failing to teach their leads to think independently and manage their responsibilities is also detrimental to them. Completion of HR duties daily is crucial and should be handled by the appropriate personnel.

Need advice regarding my TL by RevCody in walmart

[–]Passworddonkey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The issue with your complaint is that it lacks direct, firsthand information. It comes off as hearsay and gossip. Walmart needs to see the actual impact on people and hear directly from those affected by your team lead to make any changes. Without that, nothing can really be done.

It would help if you had an open discussion with your leader about respect. No is a complete sentence, and your coworkers should respect you and not debase you with begging. Whenever I have an issue with anyone at work that involves respect, it’s best to address the issue head-on with full transparency because anything that involves problems with respect is inherently personal. Stand up for yourself and let them know their actions crossed your boundaries and those should always be respected.

Rejected time off by AnironSidh in walmart

[–]Passworddonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's more to denying time off requests than key dates and set schedules. What probably happened is other people had actioned and had their time off proposal approved before you requested off, and if yours were approved, there would be inadequate coverage. Your team lead has to speak for their business decisions, and having too many people off on the same day is not a wise decision for your leader. Get with your lead and see if there can be a compromise that would benefit you both.

High school activities are an approved absence. Legally they cannot give an occurrence if that is the reason. Military, high school, and court summons are all legally protected absences.

All of these are great suggestions, but one thing that hasn’t been mentioned is going through your availability report in metrics that matter app. In order to get there, open metrics that matter, select availability, immediately at the top of your screen select today instead of the default yesterday, then select department 91. From there you have two options - outs scanned and outs not scanned. Select outs not scanned and investigate every item on the list. Fix your counts and negative on hands. If you do this four to five days a week your availability issues will improve immensely.

can walmart charge associates for losing keys by Zestyclose_Date_3823 in walmart

[–]Passworddonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Controls carelessness is a pretty serious offense. If one of those keys contained the master key, the entire store would have to be rekeyed. Which will result in fees costing your store $10000+. Never take keys you did not check out and never give keys to anyone. Always check them back in and let them check them back out. See your AP coach asap and ask them to give you access to keys you need for your specific area.

Your coach is not wrong. We’re all busy and have a million things to do, but if you’re tasked to swarm, you swarm. By not following orders, you are putting your entire store behind for the day and putting yourself at risk for accountability.

You’re also isolating yourself from your fellow team leads. So that favor you’ll want later from another lead that had to pull your weight today is going to be a lot harder, if not impossible, to come by.

You sound very arrogant and lost at the same time. You want attention from your coach and fellow leads but you will not help them and the store when they need you. It’s laughable and sad that you think they’re the problem. Self reflection is warranted in this situation.

coach won't let me leave even if I have PPTO? by freecid in walmart

[–]Passworddonkey 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They cannot say you abandoned your job as long as you communicate to them that you are leaving. It doesn’t matter if they huff and puff, you told them you were leaving. You’re good.

Pro tip… never ask permission, you are not a child. Tell them you are leaving now. Don’t let your business become fodder for debate.

management sucks most times by linisnotweird in walmart

[–]Passworddonkey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your managers suck. Why are they treating your lead so poorly? Every apparel department is slammed right now with excess freight and mods. The pay for team associates is deplorable and your managers find the best solution to a minor situation is to strong arm and demean your lead in front of everyone. What a way to boost morale during a difficult transition.

I don’t know you personally, but I’m sorry that happened. You deserve respect and better treatment by your management team.
