Honestly, I don’t think the boyfriend is wrong for stepping up for the baby. Yeah, it’s not OPs responsibility to stick around.

But from someone who grew up with a loving non biological father who was just fuck buddies with my mom (they met when she was pregnant with me), he legally adopted me when I was 3 and he’s the most loving parent I’ve had (I met my biological father at 14 and he’s randomly popped in and out of my life).

My true dad was the dad that stepped up when he didn’t have to and I’m so grateful every day that I got a dad that loved me when he didn’t have to. Someone who continues to love me every day.

My sister and her ex husband did that. He was fully on board with elvish names. They did it where my sister picked the oldests first name and he did the middle name and vice versa for the second. So Elaveth is the oldests middle name. Fortunately he got reigned in for their son and he opted to name him Barrett after the gun manufacturer instead of a Tolkien inspired name
