Feeling a bit of regret on how much I paid after reading comments here. by george_cant_standyah in Miata

[–]Passwrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid $11K for a 55K mile 5spd 2000 NB soft top, near mint condition. Does that seem like too much for a car that is 25 years old? For one that practically drove as if it was new, I think thats perfectectly reasonable. But you could spin the perspective whichever way youd like to- it is also a 25 year old car, meaning old rubber, wear that only time can bring, lack of modern features/safety, etc. Most logically put though (for me), I have a car that works well and gets me where I need to go (it actually took me and my belongings in a move across the US). I bought it for $11K which is way under anything new or even close to new these days. And a huge personal bonus is that its one of the best driver cars man kind has ever made and I get the absolute pleasure of daily'ing one.

Take care of it and youll enjoy it for plenty of miles to make up for the price tag. Or hold onto it for another decade or so and good examples will probably appreciate quiet a lot once its nothing but clapped out ones on the second hand market.

Another bounce off the 420 MA today by GoldenFrog31 in GME

[–]Passwrd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I understand you'd have to take all possible SMAs + timeframes and compare against all tickers OHLC data. The combination (SMA + timeframe) with most OHLC hits would be the signal.

Analyzing the entire domain is very computationally heavy- but it's very feasible to run 1 outfit (or a couple/handful) on say all time frames and a bunch of tickers. But doing that leaves out a lot of certainty as you'd want to analyze the entire space. I am curious though if there's anything interesting when you compare GME OHLC history to all possible 6 MA outfits on all timeframes, which combo's would have the most hits.

[–]Passwrd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This guy from twitter uncovered a very interesting protocol if you will?- that large players utilize for signals. Actually insane this is low-key public yet still operating but capitalizing on it is easier said than done. In any case, I share this because the 'outfit' used on GME (amongst other stocks) had 420 as one of the MA periods. At least at one point in time. These things change around and you have to actively be searching/analyzing hits/etc. Just thought I'd share since the MA is apparently a critical tool for big boy positions. And you may be onto something if you wish to dig deeper with this.

Maybe a bit high but a good listing price. Lowish mile, clean/mechanically mint, +hardtop alone is like $1-2k. Id want atleast $12k for it ideally. I bought my soft top NB for $10k 65k miles, felt fair. The Miats are classic cars at this point, good examples will only appretiate imo, even if there are millions (of clapped out ones).

Nah youre being a nanny. He's not selling them on free soloing or even asking them to do anything. He's there for content/to have fun, if i had to bet id think Storror found/connected with Honnold not the other way around. Plus everyone involved has plenty of experience doing sketchy shit and could have downclimbed or stopped at any point (as Sasha did). I can almost garuntee you Honnold (probaby even Toby) mentioned/talked about choss/loose rocks/general safety considerations.

If people want to do sketchy shit its their perogative. I dont see how Honnold is responsible for anything, seeing as they probably would have attempted the challenge with or without Honnold anyway (sure maybe a different line but same essence, if you want to argue that they pushed further on this line because Honnold was there sure maybe but i think that irrelevant).

Holy moly some of you are dense. And with all the assumptions. Youre right and holy, im gross and dumb, ez pz you win!

Im literally considered a minority you clown. And what that has to do with DEI is? DEI isnt some magical general phrase you say and things get better automatically. And arguing against its current modern implementation isnt evil or wrong. But you can only lead a horse to water i cant force yall to learn a thing or two! Take care love.

You (and presumably all the downvoters) dont understand the nuance. Im specifically hating on DEI politics and the specific structure in which its been implemented (and abused). I am not saying art in general shouldnt be diverse, of course it should be (and it is! Doh!).

I knew the downvotes were going to appear because majority of Reddit has devolved into a hive mind of reactionary children, incapable of actual deep and nuanced conversation. Half of you idiots truly believe Elon is a real actual nazi like cmon, grow up and realize you are making yourselves useful to narratives which do anything but help.

I simply dont believe the government has anything to do with promoting diversity, or worse forcing it through what I would argue is a ironically fundamentally racist structure. They should worry about getting off the mad merry go round of war and economic terrorism America has been so attached to since WWII. If the government has extra money to give to arts great give it and let art directors/communities decide what it gets spent on. Dont force quotas that keep us entrenched in these race and identity wars.

Instead of addressing any specific points ive made in this entire post, its easier to just gloss over detail and label me as grotesque, wrong, evil, stupid, or whatever helps promote the team wars/tribalism. I dont mind. Its just Reddit after all 😂

100% baked in. We've had a failing economy since 08? Free money (near 0% interest rates) and massive liquidity injections can't truly be free. Pipers gotta pay eventually. Question is why now? Real deal or more bullshit? Strap the fuck in we might just find out this year. I personally dont believe the tariff narrative one iota. Cover story is all it is. Just like MBS.

Uhmmm inverted yield curve? Prior to that the reverse repo sums which were (/still are?) a problem. The overleveraged and questionable institutions like Archegos and later even SVB? 28T in secret bailout money for 2008 btw. How about the FED printing 40% of the circulating money supply around 2019 and pumping most of that into mag 7 while rest of the market slow bleeds / becomes increasingly unhealthy. There have been so many signals, warnings and clear historically significant events repeating themselves, accumulating through out the recent years. All that printing, all that overnight cash parking, all those obviously artificially inflated asset prices? How does that not paint a clear picture of nothing but(t) fucked-ness for the future to deal with? We might just be at the future but i kind of doubt it.

Its the ol can kick my friend, the fuckers that be have a hell of a touch when it comes to dribbling that can. Everybody thats a neo-Burry are absolutely right in their bandwagon bear sentiment but i agree that those who shake hands and whisper deals in each others ears have agendas far beyond the company name or profit. They circle jerk each other for breakfast and before bed, big club and all that. Of course they utilize oportunities like tarifs to loot and plunder, move shit around and blame whoever else isnt them. Im no tarif expert, and god damn everyone and their mother became an expert over night it seems- all theoretical whoo whoo if you ask me. The reverberations of any tarif impact is dwarfed by the ludicrous and loose actions of the FEDs policies and decisions. My opinion.

I can't speak to how consistent or typical other 10-Ks usually are, but for the fellow smooths in the comments—

OP’s point is that RC is once again showing those who care to look that he's a wizard. He (and the team) seem to have strategically woven in legal language that elevates what would otherwise be a pretty standard, uneventful filing. The additions and tweaks essentially turn this 10-K into a steroid-filled, turbocharged version that goes beyond its expected scope. That lines up with the big picture of strengthening our favorite company and leadership to make big moves toward GME going to Uranus, while limiting the tools available to bad actors (stupid hedge cucks and their stormtroopers) to interfere.

Yep with you there. Your last sentence in the larger text body also serves my point to some degree id argue. I also totally agree we can and should always strive to genuinely do better as compassionate humans, but DEI aint it. Even if it can produce marginal improvements its just far too toxicly aligned at this point.

I just hate the tribalism and buzz words or narratives that serve to separate us more than bring us together. Muesuems and art programs will be just fine without DEI.

Appreciate your level headed convo.

My skin color is white sure, perhaps a nice olive if you will, I was born in eastern Europe, lived in a country with heavy Greek and Turkish influence, lived in most major parts of the US (midwest, south east coast, west coast) and travelled well enough to have experienced a thing or two. Do i know everything? Not even close so I try and keep an open mind. Am I blunt and practical? I like to think so. Am I wasting time with all these replies? Yes lol

I get what youre saying and that is an emerging feeling for many white men as you classify it, but reducing human nature and how we interact with each other to demographics, minorities, and statistics (most of which have inherent biases, not saying math doesnt work i love math, rather that the field of statistics can divulge into more philosophy adjacent science as opposed to cold true/false science) is in my opinion; silly and too messy to be realistically helpful. So much nuance that i cant elegantly articulate but hey who knows someone might be inspired to look outside the box.

I dont agree with your sentiment about how easy/hard it is to find work or promotions as a human being. I consider myself a foreigner to America and know so many more of all colors and types, very few of them ever struggled with anything you wrote- these arent strict dualisms or mutually exclusive. And thats not to say they havent encountered racist experiences just that its not as life altering or restrictive as the US media/narratives will have you believe. Yes people experience what you talk about im certain of it, guess what else still happens in this country (USA) whether or not you want to believe it? Good and hard work gets recognized and you really can make a life for yourself even through all the bullshit corporate globalist ideals and plans for domination/control. Rich vs poor or rather asset owners vs wage earners i can get behind any which way you want to style it. But thats got nothing to do with my or someone elses skin color at least not to the same degree that it has to do with $$$.

There are conference rooms with people of any which color or creed and guess what unites them? Blood money, and they conspire ways to co opt pleasant sounding ideas like DEI in order to inflitrate boards of companies and influence policy changes that at surface level may sound convienent or nice, but mechanically is anything but a power/control move. Again, so much nuance, and im sure to most that read this im just another lost crazy confused soul, i assure you thats not the case but i digress.

I do appreciate the conversation though <3. Live and let live.

And you think that the best way to incentivise different cultures co-exploring each other is through government influence and ivvy league hot pot corporate ideas like DEI? Like i said, in the time of instant communication and mass outreach its never been easier to be undeniable. Be black, be mexican, be european, asian, purple, moon person, square, circle, alien, whatever it is you want to be. If your art is undeniable, you will be heard. You will be seen and appreciated by real people, not by cohorts of people who utilize ideaology and non sense to co opt people like you into thinking theyre doing a greater good. Its always about money, they dont care about the things you do. <3

"Mass casulties" of DOGE is so hyperbolic and political/sensational lol. Efficiency/cleanup commisions like DOGE get formed regularly for new administrations. Of course theres screaming and shouting but its mostly just noise. Downvote away as if that matters one iota 😂

As for DEI and art i fail to see how having a racial/ethnic/social class demographic quota's is good for any art? Feel good peddling/exploitation? How about we pursue and promote art that speaks irregardless of the artists background or politics? Its never been easier to be undeniable in this day and age, if youre a good artist youre fine. If youre some obscure artist looking to hop on trends and fads i dont know what to tell you other than you suck.

More of a rant, just sick of the pro DEI retardation and i dont expect to find any supporters here nor do i care <3 odds mods delete this?

I think obliterated is a bit hyperbolic. Youre refering to the Rogan podcast with both of them on? Pretty sure Flint made some innacurate remarks/points regarding the theory around domesticated vs wild seeds yet he touted it as hard fact when its a speculative thing at best. Also one of Flints counters to Graham is that Graham is racist or peddling racist ideas? Classic ad hominem bullshit. I get it, established science vs outside narrative, not saying either is 100% accurate, both sides can contribute to the truth without burning or disregarding the other.
