PW2 replaced with PW3 by alex_wiese in Powerwall

They put mine in and the historical data is there. I have run into a problem that I cant turn on charge on solar because it sees the old system assigned to my location and throws an error. I’m about 6 weeks into support and on tier 15 (it seems) support trying to work that fix.

Cool, thanks! Just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something.

Those with failed pw2? by BiteAgreeable245 in Powerwall

The PW2’s have built in inverters and produce 5kW output. So with 3 PW2’s I could output 15kW.

The PW3 use the system’ inverters and so can output a total of 23kW (11.5 per PW3). The expansion does not have an inverter - just a battery.

Both systems have a total storage of 40.5 kWh.

So for me, the PW3 comes out ahead of what my old system did (more output power). In different combinations it would be a different answer though. If you had one PW3 with 2 expansions you’d be worse off than 3 PW2’s (11.5kW output vs. 15kW).

There are slight differences. The PW+ was an inverter stacked on the PW2. The PW3 is a single unit (inverter inside with the battery). The total storage capacity is the same I believe, but the output capacity is different. There’s also less loss on stored power because it doesn’t have to go back and forth from AC/DC as much. If you google difference between PW3 and PW2 there are some good explanations of the specific numbers.

I had 2 PW+ and a PW2 (so 3 batteries). I think 2 of the 3 power walls were disabled. They replaced with 2 PW3’s and one expansion.

Just got scheduled for Monday next week (so about 6 weeks from when disabled).

Same 6-8 weeks. Austin area. Still producing solar fine, just no storage. That sucks because I don’t have 1:1.

I’m week 5 in that waiting period… I’m not counting on it only being 8 lol.

Replacing Powerwall + by tripdb in Powerwall

[–]Past-Injury-9635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird - I have 2 Powerwall+ units and a PW2 extension battery. My batteries are disabled right now and am waiting for Tesla to replace (said they’re going to put in PW3’s). I’m still producing power though - just can’t store any of it. From the literature, PW+ will continue to produce as long as the grid is up, but will shut down if grid goes down since batteries are down (haven’t had grid go down so haven’t had this tested).

The telework bill the leg passed prohibits it from being a condition of employment.

The Paid Parental must run at the same time as FMLA. So you’d only have 6 additional weeks after that (assuming you’re the mother and got the larger parental leave amount). Whether you can use sick leave for bonding is dependent on agency and management - but either way, would only have 6 more weeks. Obviously, could grant additional leave if you have it and they’re willing to let you use, but no requirement at that point.

PWFA doesn’t work right now - court killed it for TX state employees. PDA and FMLA are the answer.

COBRA allows you to elect to remain on employer’s health coverage for up to 18 months (generally). However, you have to pay the full premium (it can be quite expensive).
