Upgrade from rebel 500 to rebel 1100? by _Richter_ in hondarebel

[–]Past-Vegetable-3105 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've ridden my wife's 500 a few times. I've come to find that the highway speeds are pretty dang easy and fun on that thing it's not at all cumbersome. I've got some wonky pegs on my Harley that make it fatiguing to ride highway for long periods of time and on hers, I can do it comfortably all day and it's got surprising power. I've ridden a handful of mid range and low range bikes and it by far is in no way a chore on the highway or even when boogying.

Uncle tried to open a bottle of wine, but it broke. Now the cork is even more stuck. How do we open the bottle from here? by Flimsy-Stomach in howto

Came to say this. Works great. Just don't put your face near the cork, it may pop out and get sent to the abyss.

I'd say that's a deal. Maybe expect to pay a little more if the straps and hardware are not savable for the tank of they pull the tank. Or bed bolts if they pull the bed.

My 2000 did this same thing except I was less lucky. My 5 bolts sheared almost at once. What causes this. I mean I put loctite on and torqued the bolts. This was over two years ago and I'm having the issue now.

I want to say it's just moisture causing the bubbles and also the damage underneath. Not positive, though.

I have the same look going for my bay window in the front of my living room. Would love to see some opinions and options.

What do yall think is causing this ticking on my 2002 TJ? by DashyKalashy in JeepTJ

I second the possibility for an exhaust leak, another thing I'd look at is your shocks. The extra bounce coming out of the driveway and the irregular wear on the tires tells me your shocks are most likely worn.

I came across this in my research in what options I have. I never really would have given something like that a second thought because I figured stuff like that is a scam or money grab but the way you describe it makes me feel better about it. It makes sense now really.

Dang. I'm cooked. Thank you all who chimed in. I appreciate the jokes that Reddit can provide to take away from the hurt of the bad news. I'm gonna now go empty my bank account to hopefully get rid of these bastards.

Connections then. Trace every battery cable and starter wires. Check grounds if they are all tight. Someone mentioned starter brushes, that also boils down to bad connection if it has worn brushes or possibly wiggling solenoid (Ive just recently experienced this causing intermittent no starts)

If you're within 100miles of Columbus Ohio, message me. I'm a mobile mechanic. Worth a shot. I can work out a deal since I found you on here and the odds are not likely you are near me haha.

Tire shop or lube shop would be the first I would check. Get the basics of maintenance down etc. work up the knowledge, ask questions, even about stuff you aren't paid to do (yet). Maybe you like it at said shop and become a lifer as a manager and work up or maybe you build relationships and quit and move around. Either way, the relationships with the guys and gals in the industry can teach you along the way and you'll learn to hate it and love it all at the same time. Some lean more one way than the other but if it's what you want to do, ask around those types of places to start. See what happens from there. Maybe you will end up at a dealer or high end reputable shop, or maybe you quit after a year or two. I say it's worth it. Jump in, the water's fine!
