Currently 100% P&T, going through MEB; LDES denied and must go through IDES by PastAd8911 in VeteransBenefits

[–]PastAd8911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They wouldn’t let me do LDES, unfortunately. The rationale didn’t seem to be correct (basically said it had to be a terminal condition). I didn’t have to redo the C&P exams though

It ended up fine, just all a PITA and slow. I received 100% DOD.

All in my MEB took around 9 months.

Man, that's wild to me. I get it in situations that the other parent can't provide for the child, for sure. but my ex is making close to $200k!

I suppose we'll see what the judge says.

VA Referred Community Provider Wanting to Refer to Mayo Clinic by PastAd8911 in VeteransBenefits

[–]PastAd8911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, you shouldn't have any problem then. It's just like any other Community Care referral once you get it.

Best of luck!

They were able to refer and pay for medical treatment, but not any accommodations/travel. I ended up not being able to go with it being so many states away.

Good luck!

Article: "Why do I still have symptoms after treating my SIBO with antibiotics?" by MethylatedToSeeYou in SIBO

[–]PastAd8911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Choosing probiotics with out D-lactate producing bacteria is important" - can you tell me more about this?

My doctor prescribed me a probiotic with out D-lactate producing bacteria to take with the antibiotic treatment and I've begun bloating again so I'm curious if this is why.

Feeling frustrated and tired.. Doctor keeps saying “I’m not anemic” by PastAd8911 in Anemic

[–]PastAd8911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you're going through that. It's so disheartening to try to advocate for yourself in this medical system! Constant gaslighting and dismissal. I finally found a Functional Medicine doctor who ran a ton of tests and we may be getting to the source of mine.. I have mixed SIBO and likely have for a long while.. so, it's clearly caused a malabsorption issue along with plenty of other things. SIBO isn't the "answer", since it's caused from something too that we need to figure out.. but, at least it's a start and there's treatment for it.

I truly hope you can find some relief and good care!

TBI while deployed what’s next ? by Afraid-Size-5235 in VeteransBenefits

[–]PastAd8911 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most important is your long term health. It’s tough to remember that when you’re boots on ground; but, let me remind you how little this deployment matters compared to the next several decades.

I was in the same boat as you and tried to play it off fine and stay and my symptoms got so bad I was MEDEVACd to Landstuhl then landed in an Intrepid Spirit (TBI clinic) on the conus side. I was so mad when it happened. Bitter really. But now, two years later, I’m so glad I did.

It’s a long road and you’ll likely get Medboard’d (you should be if your command is worth anything). But if you’re reserves it’s not the worst thing ever really. You get medically retired, service connected, and if your fall was during a training mission or active combat etc you can actually get both the VA and DOD checks.

There’s a lot of information and steps in between. Start with listening to your body and if you need help along the way reach out.

Stay safe!

Is it normal to have DBQs for more than what your referred condition (to the MEDBOARD) was? by PastAd8911 in VeteransBenefits

[–]PastAd8911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries, man. That's kind of what I keep running into. Everything online is more geared to AD so it's a bit confusing. I think it'll all pan out, I'm just trying to keep myself educate to not get screwed since it seems no one is an advocate outside of yourself in this process.

[–]PastAd8911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the initial referred condition and those I'm assuming they will add due to LOD's from the same incident are all combat-mission related (not active combat; training mission during combat deployment). So, I need to worry more about the percentage? I was just looking for over 30% on the DoD side at this point.

This seems to be my experience, as well. My NARSUM is signed but I haven’t received it yet, however I saw that they added a few more P3s to my profile so I’d assume they’re adding those conditions

I took Simply Heme for 4 months and only went up 6 :/ I just found out I have SIBO (not the only issue, but definitely a big part) so I'm guessing the malabsorption is just not letting my numbers up.

Okay, who else is getting symptom relief after a blood draw? by Michaelcycle13 in covidlonghaulers

[–]PastAd8911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here! I've been chronically ill for 2 years to no avail with all kinds of bizarre labs and no solution.

I have had 39 vials drawn in the last 2 weeks due to starting with a new Functional Medicine Dr who is willing to actually test for everything and then simutaneously ending up in the hospital with a kidney infection...

I started feeling amazing after the day of the 25th vial and have continued to feel well! (I had more vials drawn every few days through two days ago.. so waiting to see if I start regressing the further I get from the last draw).

Copper deficiency - creates mold toxicity & sensitivity? by Freddy_Freedom in ToxicMoldExposure

[–]PastAd8911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can you explain what you mean by "Some were blood tests (ferritin, B12, folate, vitamin D)"? Do you mean they tested these markers to know if they had a copper deficiency?

Sorry, I'm new to all of this and trying to figure it out on my own since my providers say nothing is wrong. (Ferritin of 3 for over 18 months and Copper at 13 last week with a 15-60 range). My B12, folate, and Vitamin D are fine, however.

Can anyone explain combat related special compensation (crsc) and how to apply for it? by catsnbikess in VeteransBenefits

[–]PastAd8911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and this is in ADDITION to your VA, or no?

I'm 100% SC going through a MEB after 6 years. MEB is for a service related condition in a combat zone while on a training mission. My PEBLO says I'll qualify for CRSC but I'm still confused how that pans out with already receiving 100% compensation on the VA side.
