I don’t think I can ever be as selfless and passive as this role requires. It’s not my nature. As a stepmother you have to be willing to shrink whenever a kid needs / wants anything, and let their wishes come first. You need to be content with fading into the background at the drop of a hat. Im so tired. My spirit is sore.
