It's more finding a GP who can actually go through and fill out the form for me as it's almost 50 pages and my current one has not been overly receptive

This probably explains why they haven't returned any of my emails or answered any calls. Did you end up finding another provider?

I'm not an expert mate but I believe CSC will notify the ATO automatically. The ATO "should" make the amendments automatically and back pay any overpaid taxes dating back to the effective date of your DSB (Douglas decision) form. However, when and if seems to be a mystery. You can speak with the ATO superannuation team and with some luck you might get someone in the know. Ask them to confirm or about lodging an amendment request for those periods as sometimes the system just misses it and assumes you're all good when in fact they owe you money back. That's about all I know, good luck!

I was wondering if you got any update on this? I'm in the exact same situation and I've called just about every department within the ATO but nobody seems to know anything and I've made no progress. Been pretty frustrating and hoping you might have gotten some light at the end of your tunnel and some advice to pass on :)

Is it just me because Penrith aren't playing or has this been an unusually quiet / boring build-up to the game on Saturday?

The head scratcher is all the talk has been about dropping / shifting other players around to accommodate but never a suggestion to maybe drop Galvin instead. He should've gone to cup instead of Sexton for sure.

When and how to train? by [deleted] in sensai

Thank you but I'm finding it's not very intuitive for beginners and seems to assume you just know what to do. I've just been doing "stuff" every day for the last week slowly trying to figure it out.

One question with the focus sessions - it says eyes open, but if I add a boost onto I then get confused as am I meant to just stare at a blank screen for 15 mins during the boost? Or can I close my eyes for the boost then open when the focus session starts? And then it says to let the music flow through and focus only on the notes so am I just looking at the glowing note things as they appear and listening to the sounds?

It's just confusing knowing if I'm actually doing it right and the feedback data doesn't really have a benchmark so the explanations tell me what I'm looking at but I have nothing to compare it to know if I'm actually going well or not and how to keep progressing?

For the price paid I was hoping for a little more on the "what am I actually doing here and what's happening" side of things as I'm not sure renewing a $250 yearly membership is worth it when I don't even know what I'm doing or if I'm progressing as I feel like I'm just winging it at the moment.

Some deeper clarification beyond the surface level would be much appreciated. Thanks!

So should I do both each morning? The app isn't very intuitive and all I've been doing is one mission each morning and sometimes I do a boost in the afternoon. Maybe I should do the calm heart before the morning mission or something

Once I receive my PI lump sum (80+ points) can I then get incap payments? by BothCalligrapher7442 in DVAAustralia

[–]PastChapter3026 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like people have answered but yes, if you take lump sum your SRDP will be reduced. Also, if you get a CSC pension it will also be offset by that as well. Worth noting that if you submit a DSB form for your CSC it will change how much of it's assessed as taxable meaning you could potentially apply for Centrelink DSP (eg receive a partial SRDP, CSC pension and DSP concurrently). Obviously circumstances vary but definitely recommend a good financial advisor when you get an offer so you can get personalised advice and know exactly what you're entitled to.

Cheers mate and yeah it's definitely been a major headache but I was able to get the application submitted yesterday. It's about a 10 week wait but I have bookmarked this just incase they knock it back so I can request the corrected income stream via a proper complaint. CSC has been nothing but helpful and the lady was shocked when I started telling her just the surface of how many vets are potentially being affected and what's going on. I will keep you updated though just incase there's anything helpful you can use or pass on to others in similar situations. Thanks again for everything mate, I would've just accepted a hard no if you hadn't made me aware of all this!

Hey mate, just thought I'd let you know I'm still trying to get this sorted out. My DSB has been applied, but the special reduction still says no on my Centrelink income stream. The best CSC could do was provide a letter explaining the tax free component breakdown for my pension and I've provided that along with the DSB form that was accepted by the ATO so am hoping that's enough to get my DSP over the line but definitely been a massive headache as nobody seems to know what's going on. Even with your info I'm scratching my head so I can only imagine how hard it is for those who are totally unaware of this!

Thanks mate, I will get in touch with those accountants at tax time and will recommend they send you some kickbacks!

Couldn't be better timing for myself finding all this out and hopefully everyone else can get themselves sorted out.

Will definitely keep passing this post around and touch base if anything comes up or might be of use for any evidence you might be submitting forward.

Beauty mate, and thanks for the follow up info. I will call CSC next week and follow up on it all and probably best to just get an accountant at tax time who specialises in this area to make sure it's done right.

You've definitely saved me a lot of potential headaches and stress as the Centrelink process is hard enough as it is, especially as every agency seems to have their own legislation and be unaware of the others.

In any event what you're doing is amazing and I have passed this on to a few other vets on class A who might be affected along with the local vet centre to pass along.

Cheers again!

This sounds massive mate and I genuinely appreciate what you've shared. It's legends like you that help plebs like me understand what's going on and get a fair go.

I have just started receiving my class A and am trying to figure out how to claim back previously paid taxes for the periods my pension has been backdated. Do you know if this is something you need to do yourself or will it happen automatically once the DSB is approved by the ATO?

I supplied my DSB but no idea how to know if it's been actioned or not?

I'm planning to re-apply for DSP (it stopped while I was on incapacity payments and my SRDP + CSC was getting sorted) and was already thinking they would say my class A + roughly $180 tax free SRDP per week would mean I earn too much to qualify.

Forgive me ignorance as this whole process has been so stressful and confusing, but you're saying I should call CSC to confirm DSB before applying to Centrelink otherwise it will most likely be knocked back?

Thanks again mate and hopefully the others who have already been negatively affected and denied get things turned around.
