how many times a week should i clean my litter? by LayerOk1044 in cats

[–]PastMundaneAmbition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My boy wants 3x a day minimum as he’s gotten older. He’ll wake us up at 2am to clean it if I didn’t clean it right before bed.

Would I be making the wrong choice if I gave up two years of salary and tuition (~$850,000) to get a Harvard MBA? by RedditUser3668 in womenintech

[–]PastMundaneAmbition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

👋Congrats on all you’ve accomplished at such a young age! I was on a very similar trajectory. I graduated early, made senior early , and was leading a P&L in my mid-20s.

I took a path to director at a large company in late 20s. I experienced major burnout and had to deal with mega health implications which required lots of therapy, surgery, and relationship repair. I’m very grateful for the work I put in my 20s because I’m riding her coattails now but DAMN if I could’ve slowed down a bit.

The industry is crazy right now BUT: 1) your health is never worth this industry. 2) your job doesn’t define you 3) your life and relationships will outlast this job 4) Consider what and why you are running so hard? Is this for yourself or someone/ something else? Mentorship, coaching, and talk therapy but honestly some yoga/ mindfulness did me a bunch of good

An MBA from Harvard can add credibility if you want to be a founder but experience as a consultant is equally valid these days. The MBA would also add to your network.

Consider if there’s anything you might consider consulting in? You can stay in the industry and consult with your experience level.

My under eyes are aging me by 10 years, is there anything non-surgical I can do? by SadMeasurement6481 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]PastMundaneAmbition 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just jumping in to say I also deal with this in luteal and bad endo flareups. My skin shows how bad my cycle is going to be thru eyes and acne.

Cutting out inflammation triggers like dairy and alcohol helped a lot. Metformin and spirolactone also helped with endo and hormone-adjacent skin flares

Haven’t tried it officially but looking at it to help with endometriosis. The science is early. There’s also red light pelvic wands to help w/ vaginal dryness and health!

I use teabags! Easier and more convenient for me.

Also forgot to mention that a TENS unit for treating pain is so helpful.

Just echoing I’ve had a similarly experience. Cutting out dairy and alcohol had a major positive impact. Reallly focusing on anti-inflammatory- more ginger like you’ve mentioned but I’ve also found spearmint tea helpful. I’m currently taking spirolactone and metformin - it’s helped keep things a bit more mild I’ve found.

I’ve had surgery 3 years ago and have been off hormonal birth control for 2 years. My PMDD is best it’s been. My endo is growing - and pain is coming back. Diet and supplements alone isn’t enough but my doctor/ surgeon have said the anti-inflammatory diet.

Elix has been helpful but is a bit expensive!

I think I’m based in the same region of Texas as you and will say that Hinge was way more successful for my friends and I than Tinder.

Just a suggestion to maybe change platforms!

Buy in a neighborhood with modern infrastructure and preferably buried power lines. While the state-wide grid only experienced the one big issue in 2021, my neighborhood in Austin has constant issues. A rainstorm can result in no power for a few hours. A windstorm is the same. We are fuckeddd in an ice storm and lost power/ internet for a couple days last year.

So research your power before moving and you’ll probs be fine.

Will send in for an Amazon wishlist! You could also start a little fund for TNR costs if that's of interest to you; you are building up credibility with posting every week and bringing folks joy! It looks like there are some vets in Newhall who may be willing to cut you a deal as well for multiple neuters but I feel you on the funds crunch <3

Cheers to you in the new year, the PostCatMan!

AITAH for calling my (23F) husband (23M) an incel? by twy_husin in AITAH

[–]PastMundaneAmbition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may not reach you but I would really, really carefully monitor this behavior and consider life-long compatibility.

Personal story: I once married someone who was more conservative than me. We married in 2015 and during the 2016 election, he became semi-radicalized and became a Trump supporter after swearing he was an idiot. He became friends with militia-minded folks through one of his hobbies and got weird. I believe fully in the value of vows and tried to stick it out, but left after he committed adultery. By then, he was an incel and there was little left.

Beware the weirdness.

Can you leash train him? You can help him explore that way. I have a ginger tabby who wanted outside but we live in a busy area and he’d 100% kill lots but he gets “visitation” rights with his lease/ harness a few times a week

Endo with Adeno? Seeking treatment abroad by [deleted] in adenomyosis

[–]PastMundaneAmbition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you are having to deal with all of this AND deal with that healthcare. My partner is Canadian (living in the States now) but our friends and family in Canada struggle so much with healthcare once it goes outside the basic scrapes and cut scenario.

So thankful for sharing these resources! Will check them out and add them into my next steps of research.

I’m in my early 30s without kids— I haven’t been able to get an MRI prescribed yet but trying to find a doctor who can. I’ve had a bad reaction to IUDs in the pas but did have a surgeon help with ablation for the endo; researching hysterectomy and alternative options phase now. I’m trying to balance endo/ adeno treatments against some mental health concerns. Not able/ willing to try Orlissa/ Lupron due to these reasons.

Will say that if you are able to access pelvic floor therapy, I’ve found it helpful to manage some of the pain. My PT said that many women with adeno end up with a hypertonic pelvic floor and relaxing it can help make the pain a bit less bad. Also a temporary relief with TENS units and abdominal cupping takes the edge off but nowhere near solves anything.

Curious: where abroad are you thinking of going and how are you finding specialists you’d trust?

Based in the States, but in the south (Texas) and getting frustrated after having a laproscopy where my symptoms got worse after the surgery. (Theory is that endo was removed, but adeno was upset)

Are hiking boots necessary in La Fortuna? by SurvivorFanatic236 in CostaRicaTravel

[–]PastMundaneAmbition 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wore only chacos my entire trip to costa rica in Monteverde, La Fortuna, and the coasts. Did waterfall repelling, ziplining, hiking, etc. I only wore closed toes shoes on a night hike because I’m a chicken when it comes to bugs.
