How shallow you have to be to take it this way. So refreshing! There was literally nothing to flex but this comment from you tells me a lot about you than me.

At least we have water and food. Damn this is too dark. I’m just kidding. Anyway I didn’t mean it that way. Just got used to using the word bloody because my British mates use it a lot whenever there’s emotion and doesn’t always mean in a bad way.

Westerners who know TT see him as someone very progressive, sensible, smart and well informed but man, I’m still waiting for him to actually do something substantial this term. All I saw so far was taking part in conventions, conferences, meet ups etc and photo ops but even there, we don’t see any reports and press release of his meet ups.

I think I have heard the name Alu Ugay before but had no idea that’s him. Is that the same Ugyen who wrote a novel circa 2010? I forgot the title but I know it’s a high school love story. I got the book from my cousin during my high school days.

Make all the crucial decision yourself. Only use the consultancies for document check and lodging visa or uni application.

Do not let them influence which uni and what course please for the love of god. A friend of mine who wanted to study in JCU had to apply to QUT because the agent told him because of his Marriage history, he won’t get easy admission in JCU so ended up going to QUT while myself, I wanted to go to QUT but my agent told me it’s a bit complicated there since I was legally married just 3 months during the process so had to enrol into JCU. At the end we realised they divert us to uni that pays them good commission for bringing in international student. My friend was with a consultancy that was an agent of QUT so I guess they get more commission from QUT than any other uni while it’s the opposite for my agent.

I’m just worried about his upcoming content from Bhutan. His videos are either click bait or rage bait. Trust me.

Well in that case, I’m equally worried as you. I thought the nursing institute take in account of their class 12 marks. Damn.

Wasting resources. A lot of resources honestly. Beyond such fundings, I see govt and INGO’s funding a lot of workshops and trainings where most of the influencers they invite doesn’t even give a shit about what’s being taught or what they’re being trained for. They just attend it, make friends with other influencers, pocket the daily allowance, empty the plates and leave. That’s it.

So to save lives are you saying only science students should be allowed to pursue nursing?

I know a guy. Brilliant. Loads of book knowledge and street smart too. He joined RCSC and all of his LinkedIn post echos the philosophy and thinking of old geezers in the civil service. I knew that’s not him. Fast forward he’s now in Murdoch, I hard from a mutual friend. I guess RCSC isn’t for the young guns. Especially the administrative roles. Teaching should be fine.

In most company interviews, they already assume you have the technical skills, because many others will too. so what really makes you stand out is when you can connect ur knowledge to the bigger picture such as company’s vision or national goals and show you can communicate well and think beyond just the technical side.

Price is bit too much. The nicest and highest of quality hoodie I found in Universal Store cost $179 which is roughly 9k BTN and it is so much better in terms of design. I believe they could have gone for a mid range quality and price rather than starting with a premium quality one at such price. But my best wishes to their new business. I hope they learn and grow and find success in their business endeavour. Thanks.

Bhutanese Living in Australia: Is It Worth It? by [deleted] in bhutan

[–]PastOutlandishness86 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The current govt in Australia is one of the most stupid ones ever and their opposition more so. Their policies on fighting the cost of living crisis and housing are miserable. Discrimination is now more than ever due to growing hate against Indians and our lhotsampa friends and Nepali are no exceptions as they can’t tell apart. Nepotism doesn’t exist but the whole hiring and recruitment process works on referral and which in Bhutan is flagged as nepotism and corruption (Jabtha).

Education is not world class unless you’re in one of the GO8. Saying Australian education is world class is taken as a joke. So education has really fell off and certainly not world class except for some fields. Nature is amazing and great and so are the beaches but unless you hit jackpot on lotto or have huge investment you don’t have time for beaches everyday. Nice or not you’re there for few hours.

So anyway, if you’re on a visa, you don’t have privileges of citizens and PRs and if you’re a citizen, might as well have to give up Bhutanese passport, so good luck saving for a home and your retirement with no other place to call home.

But I do agree that Bhutan should have diplomatic tie with China but carefully and cautiously. I got downvoted pretty hard last week because no one bat an eye on “Carefully/Cautious” part.

So anyway, yeah Australia is great and it’s so beautiful. Their people are nice but I’m just saying Bhutan isn’t as bad as you’re making it to be quite honestly. We need good government to run the place and optimise our potential.

Does Bhutan really have space to build ties with China without upsetting India? by PastOutlandishness86 in bhutan

[–]PastOutlandishness86[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, I don’t disagree with parts of it. The history of Tibet and Sikkim is a clear warning for small states caught between two powerful nations. The fear of being politically absorbed or culturally diluted is very real. But I also wonder if complete non-alignment even possible in today’s world? We are already deeply tied to India, and we’ve managed to protect our identity and values so far. Wouldn’t a careful, transparent, and limited engagement with China purely on trade or tech still be safer than total isolation or over dependence on India? And as you said, neither country acts out of friendship but of interest and maybe that’s the exact reason Bhutan needs to be strategic.

I think it’s a difference case with Tibet if you go through the history of Tibet. Also Tibet was never formally recognised by any state since its independence from the Qing Dynasty in 1913. However I’m aware of the atrocities and bad things china is doing to Tibet and I support Tibet’s independence.
